5 New Shows Available This Week on Netflix, Apple, TV and More (March 4-10)

March Madness kicks off with a fresh lineup of new shows premiering this week on Netflix, Apple TV Plus, other streaming services, and broadcast and cable TV.

Leading the lineup of new shows is a TV spin-off of Guy Ritchie's film "The Gentleman" and season two of "Extraordinary," perhaps one of the best shows you haven't seen. Plus, the Academy Awards will air later in the week so you can see which films and performers will be honored. Here are the top new shows to watch this week.

"The reason Netflix brought so many trans people together was to protest. Netflix rightfully gets a lot of flack for continuing to support certain transphobia-spewing comedians, but they are also praised for continuing to support Gadsby. In this special program, Jess Tom, Alok, Asha Ward, Chloe Petz, Deanne Smith, Krishna Istad, Mx. Daria Bell.

Premieres on Netflix on Tuesday, March 5 at 3am ET

This underrated gem is absolutely worth digging up from the depths of Hulu's library. It was so good that I watched Season 1 of Extraordinary in one day. This British comedy is set in a world where everyone gets superpowers around their 18th birthday, except 25-year-old Jen (Máiréad Tyers). Her lack of powers made her bitter and cynical. In Season 2, however, things have turned around. She can now go to a clinic to have her abilities diagnosed, and she has a cute boyfriend, Gizlord (Luke Rolason). However, Gizlord has a family he doesn't remember! Meanwhile, Carrie (Sophia Oxenham) and Kash (Bilal Hansa) navigate the realities of post-breakup life.

Airing Wednesday, March 6 at 12 a.m. ET on Hulu

Guy Ritchie brings his unique style to television as a spin-off of the 2019 film. The TV series will feature new characters in the same gangster world. Theo James stars as Eddie Horniman, who unexpectedly inherits the title of Duke of Halstead. He soon discovers that his estranged father's vast estate is part of a cannabis empire. Eddie is confronted by Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone), a drug lord from London's East End, and Bobby's ruthless daughter Susie (Kaya Scodelario). Eddie initially doesn't want to get involved in the marijuana business, but he is gradually drawn in by its allure.

Available on Netflix on Thursday, March 7 at 3 a.m. ET

"Shits Creek" native Eugene Levy is back for more travel adventures. As he says, "Here's to trying new things - well, within reason." Levy visits some of Europe's most beautiful destinations, discovers local hidden gems, and stays in unique hotels. Along the way, he experiences midsummer in Sweden, tastes French cuisine in St. Tropez, fishes in Milos, harvests grapes in Italy, plays soccer with Spain's leading stars in Seville, and visits his mother's childhood home, Scotland, for the first time.

Premiering on Apple TV Plus on Friday, March 8 at 12 a.m. ET

Hollywood's biggest night, the Super Bowl so to speak, is finally here after a long awards season. The red carpet will be star-studded and Jimmy Kimmel will once again host the event. By now, you should have a good idea of the major nominees and potential winners. While "Oppenheimer" should take home a number of trophies, including Best Picture and Best Director, "Barbie," "Poor Things," "Killers of the Flower Moon," and "The Holdovers" will also receive some recognition. All five nominees for Best Song will also perform.
