Netflix doesn't save shows like it used to, but "Girls5eva" (formerly Peacock) was the only exception. It's a truly hilarious and underrated gem, and I'm so thankful for that. In Season 3, the girl group, no longer a one-hit wonder, takes the next step after recording their new album, Returnity: ...... Comeback Tour. In 2023, Stephen King's franchise horror franchise returns for another installment, based on King's 1977 short story about a man who ritually sacrifices his parents to appease a pagan corn god in the Nebraskan outback. The film centers on a murderous cult of children who ritually sacrifice their parents to appease a pagan corn god in the Nebraska backcountry. This latest film is directed by Kurt Wimmer, screenwriter of "Point Break" and "The Beekeeper. The core concept of a cult of children who worship the mysterious "walker across the ridges" remains intact, but the rest of the film deviates significantly from the original story.

Instead of following a couple of adults who stumble upon a seemingly deserted Nebraska town, Wimmer replaces them with high school senior Boleyn Williams (Elena Campouris). When the annual corn crop in her small farming community fails and the adults decide to destroy the crop in order to receive government subsidies, Boleyn conspires with her friends to hold a mock trial to hold them accountable. But things take a frightening turn when the town's preacher brings Eden, a local orphan being raised by the town's preacher and who has a blood vengeance on adults, into the fold.
