Top 5 New Shows Available This Week on Netflix, Disney Plus, TV and More (March 18-24)

When you're not tuned into "Marching Titans," check out the new shows premiering this week on Netflix, Disney Plus, other streaming services, and broadcast and cable TV.

This week's TV shows include several hot new series, including the sci-fi drama "3 Body Problem" from the creators of "Game of Thrones," the revival of "X-Men '97," and the Kristen Wiig comedy "Palm Royale." In addition, "Top Chef" returns with some major changes. This week's top new shows include.

Just hearing the name Kristen Wiig is enough to get me interested in a project. Joined by Laura Dern, Allison Janney, and the legendary Carol Burnett? I'm there. It's been that way since the dawn of time. In this miniseries set in 1969, Wiig plays Maxine Simmons, an ambitious woman looking to break into Palm Beach's high society. But getting a seat at the glamorous and exclusive table can be dangerous, and Maxine's attempts to cross the line between haves and have-nots will be tested. She will be faced with the age-old question: what are you willing to do to get what you want?

Premieres on Apple TV Plus on March 20 at 12 a.m. ET

Billed as Dick Wolf's realistic "Law & Order," the documentary traces the stories told by the detectives and prosecutors who worked the infamous murder cases, actually cutting from the headlines to Cutting away, the film tells how they tackled harrowing cases from the 1997 stabbing in Central Park to the infamous Carnegie Deli massacre in 2001. Family members, friends, survivors, and other professionals of the victims will also share their memories.

Available on Netflix on March 20 at 3 a.m. ET

One of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons growing up was "X-Men: The Animated Series." Many of the voice actors from the original animated series are back, including Cal Dodd as Wolverine, Lenore Zann as Rogue, and Allison Seely Smith as Storm. Season 1's big bad is Mr. Sinister (Christopher Britton), a scientist who is obsessed with mutants and imbues himself with their powers.

The premiere airs March 20 at 3 a.m. ET on Disney Plus

After 20 seasons, the Emmy Award-winning reality competition show is changing its menu. Host and judge Padma Lakshmi will step down and be replaced by season 10 winner Kristen Kish, along with Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons. Season 21 will explore the culinary scene in Milwaukee and Madison, followed by a finale on a Holland America Line cruise ship. In addition to new hosts and new locations, there are other major changes in Season 21. For the first time ever, 15 cheftestants will be given the chance to win cash prizes for each Quickfire Challenge, and Immunity will be contested in the Elimination Challenge.

First airs March 20 at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo (via Sling or Fubo). Each episode will be available on Peacock the following day.

This sci-fi series adaptation of Liu Jixin's Chinese novel "The Three-Body Problem" is a high-profile follow-up to the "Game of Thrones" creator's work. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are teaming with Alexander Wu ("The Terror/Infamy") and executive producers Rian Johnson and Brad Pitt. And the payoff is huge, as my colleague Malcolm McMillan calls "3 Body Problem" the best show of 2024: in 1960s China, a young astrophysicist makes a fateful decision at a secret military base. In the present day, scientists team up with an unorthodox detective to confront humanity's greatest threat.
