For the other new releases this week, all you need is the appropriate streaming subscription. They include the highly anticipated sequel "Good Burger 2," the holiday-inspired comedy "Genie," and Adam Sandler's latest animated feature "Leo."

This harrowing documentary by Ukrainian filmmaker Mstislav Chernov is likely to be a frontrunner in several Oscar categories. Documenting the 20 days Chernov spent with colleagues in the besieged city of Mariupol after Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine, along with footage shot by journalists from Frontline and the Associated Press, Chernov documents the atrocities of war from a deeply personal perspective. [This documentary/concert film follows the legendary folk singer and activist on her last tour, and also delves into her archives, including newly discovered home movies, diaries, artwork, therapy tapes, and audio recordings. Baez herself is very open and candid about her life, from her lifelong emotional struggles to the civil rights movement to her heartbreaking romance with a young Bob Dylan.

Voiced by Adam Sandler, this animated musical comedy is a coming-of-age story told by a class pet. Leo (Sandler), a faded 74-year-old lizard, has been cooped up in the same Florida fifth grade classroom for decades with his aquarium buddy Squirtle (Bill Burr), a turtle. When Leo overhears a conversation that reminds him he doesn't have long to live, he decides to escape and experience life outside. He seizes his chance when a teacher decides that he must take Leo home for the weekend, but his freedom takes a backseat as he gets caught up in the children's problems.

Daisy Ridley stars in this psycho-thriller based on the novel by Karen Dionne. Helena is married to her husband Stephen (Garrett Hedlund) and has a young daughter, leading a seemingly ordinary life. Her estranged father is the notorious Marsh King (Ben Mendelsohn), who kidnapped Helena's mother and held them captive in the wilderness for years. Helena knew nothing of their circumstances and grew up adoring her father. Now he has escaped from prison, and Helena feels that she and her daughter are in danger.

If you missed the theatrical release of The Verbenheimer Experience, you can enjoy a doubleheader at home via VOD. Cillian Murphy plays J. Robert Oppenheimer, widely known as the "father of the atomic bomb." The story follows the young Oppenheimer as he studies theoretical physics, teaches quantum physics, and develops the atomic bomb during World War II on the orders of Lieutenant General Leslie Groves Jr. (Matt Damon).

Oppenheimer launched the Manhattan Project in Los Alamos, New Mexico, where he was joined by Isidore Isaac Rabi (David Krumholz), Edward Teller (Benny Safdie), and other brilliant minds. A few years later, however, Oppenheimer is plagued by regrets.

'Tis the season for new Christmas movies. And classic Christmas movies. And Hallmark Christmas movies. With Thanksgiving this week, the holidays are just getting underway.

In the new fantasy comedy "Genie," Melissa McCarthy plays the titular character, Genie, who has been doing her job for thousands of years. One day she is called away by Bernard Bottle (Paapa Essiedu), whose marriage to wife Julie (Denée Benton) is falling apart and whose young daughter Eve (Jordyn McIntosh) barely knows him. Just before Christmas, Bernard misses Eve's birthday and is fired. Discouraged, he rummages through his old jewelry box and unintentionally releases Flora. Maybe, just maybe, she can help him get his family back together.

Sequels made decades after the first film are all the rage ("Top Gun: Maverick," "Coming 2 America"). Joining such masterpieces is "Good Burger 2," a follow-up to the 1997 comedy based on a sketch from the Nickelodeon series "All That." Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell reprise their roles as Dexter Reed and Ed the cashier, respectively. Dexter is down on his luck after another failed invention, but Ed welcomes him back to the fast food restaurant. New friends join him, and naturally, the hijinks continue.

This documentary focuses on Richard Penniman, aka Little Richard. It explores how this black queer singer became the "architect of rock and roll. Filmmaker Lisa Cortez weaves together archival footage and interviews with family members, fellow musicians, and scholars to focus on how Little Richard created an art form for ultimate self-expression but was unable to give it to himself, and the icon's life and career portrays.

Paul Schrader's latest crime thriller completes a trilogy of sorts, including 2017's "First Reformed" and 2021's "The Card Counter" All three films feature a deskbound journal They are loosely connected by the camera circling the man's figure.

In The Master Gardener, Nervell Ross (Joel Edgerton) is the meticulous gardener at Gracewood Gardens, a beautiful estate owned by wealthy Mrs. Haverhill (Sigourney Weaver). Nabel's carefully cultivated life begins to fall apart when she demands that her troubled great-niece Maya (Quintessa Swindell) be taken on as an apprentice.
