As an annual digest of what you listened to on the world's most popular music streaming service, Spotify Wrapped is essentially a holiday for the modern music lover.

For the first time since Spotify Wrapped was launched in 2016, users can check out Spotify Wrapped 2023 through the app or the web by visiting Spotify.com/Wrapped. So far, however, some users have experienced problems accessing Spotify's annual campaign.

If you consistently receive the following error message screen, it may be due to data privacy laws in your area. Additionally, the app may need to be updated, and users should make sure they are using the latest version of the Spotify app to access Spotify Wrapped 2023. According to our sister site Techradar, Spotify users need version 8.8.92 of the iOS app to see Spotify Wrapped, while Android users need version 8.8.90.893 of the app.

For example, a few days ago, I received a notification on my iPhone to update the Spotify app. By doing so, I now have full access to Spotify Wrapped 2023 statistics using the latest version of Spotify for iOS.

But there is another reason why some users are experiencing problems: to be eligible for Spotify Wrapped, users with a Spotify free or Premium subscription must stream at least 30 seconds of music from five unique artists

Flipping through the cards during the roundup experience reveals listening characters specific to your preferences and Spotify habits.

My own listening habit was assigned to "Vampire" because I "listen to more emotional and atmospheric music than others. It's on-brand for me.

In addition, the new Soundtown feature associated my musical tastes with London, England.

Spotify also integrated an AI DJ feature, introduced earlier this year, that automatically generates music you might like and inserts AI commentary between songs, just like radio. In this case, the feature guides listeners through Spotify Wrapped 2023's listening statistics for commentary on their favorite artists, genres, songs, etc. This is a great feature and one I look forward to experiencing.

Some of the other best music streaming services have their own roundups showcasing listening preferences over the past year, and Apple Music's Replay 2023 campaign reached subscribers earlier this week. But as the world's most popular streaming service, Spotify has a more sophisticated campaign. Spotify has more ways to discover music than any of the best music streaming services we've experienced. From playlists for every activity to customized content like Discover Weekly, Release Radar, Daily Mix, and Your Time Capsule, there are many ways to expand your music tastes, and Spotify Wrapped is an annual event that many music streaming fans look forward to.

In previous years, the Spotify Wrapped viewing period has proven to be limited. It usually runs until mid-January, but after that time, you may only be able to view playlists of your favorite songs of the year.
