With a host of amazing features that set it apart from traditional TVs, the eponymous Formovie Theater has been and will continue to be my daily driver for everything from watching 20-minute YouTube videos to ultra-fast 4K/60fps gaming! ... [That's right, with the year's best 4K OLED TVs like the Samsung S95C and Sony Bravia XR A95L on the horizon, the Formovie Theater stands as a shining beacon of home entertainment. Android TV 11 OS, an incredible 150-inch Android TV 11 OS, an astounding 150-inch screen size, and Dolby Vision/Atmos support make it a product not to be missed.

There is no better TV solution. But here's why Formovie's Theater is so incredibly special to me.

Projectors are quite expensive, even by 4K OLED TV standards, so they are only marginally more accessible to a wider audience. In addition, the advantages of better space management and better pricing due to improved UST projection have undoubtedly contributed to the continued popularity of projectors.

Formovie theaters are a testament to this ongoing innovation. It utilizes advanced lasers to achieve the best possible image quality and color with its projectors. It also incorporates the powerful ALPD4.0 RGB+ technology, which makes the color accuracy stand out

despite the generally poor color rendering of projectors.

In fact, its color profile is one of the reasons I cannot recommend the theater enough. As an avid animation fan, it has proven to be one of the best ways to experience animated films and shows. With the Theater, you can experience anime on the widest, fullest screen possible, as if you had an IMAX theater in your own living room.

With 2,800 lumens of brightness, the Theater can easily be viewed in brighter, more ambiance-rich environments. In most cases, projectors lack this, making it difficult to see the screen's darker settings in a sunlit room. While it is not the most perfect system, and a conventional TV would undoubtedly give better results, the Formovie Theater still dissipates enough ambient light to produce a clearer image in sunlight.

For gaming, features such as ALLM and MEMC automatically switch latency modes for a smooth gaming experience, and the Formovie Theater allows me to play games at breakneck speed on a screen twice the size of a regular TV.

Cyberpunk's latest DLC, "Phantom Liberty" and "Alan Wake 2," looked phenomenal on screens well over 100 inches in size; once you get used to AMC's cinema-worthy screens, it's really hard to go back to a 55- or 65-inch TV. It's certainly no OLED, but at least you didn't have to shell out $63,000 for a 90+ inch screen like LG's G2.

The Formovie Theater has built-in speakers designed by Bowers and Wilkins, a leader in sound and audio solutions. While powerful speakers like McIntosh's RS150 will undoubtedly improve sound quality, the Theater eliminates the need to add $1,200 to the already $3,500 price of the projector.

The inclusion of both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos is also a bonus; according to Formovie, the Theater is the first projector to utilize both technologies, providing a powerful immersive experience for both audio and visuals.

Thanks to the Android TV 11 OS, I can easily view all the content I value most without having to connect a specific device to the screen. Everything is immediately available at my fingertips, and I don't have to wrestle with an avalanche of different remotes.

However, Formovie Theater still has room for improvement. One of the biggest problems is that Netflix is not supported on the OS, requiring a streaming device or gaming console to play it.

Additionally, the theater only has three HDMI ports, only one of which is 2.1 compatible. Again, this is not necessarily a game-breaker, but it would be nice to have 2.1 support on multiple HDMI inputs so I don't have to change cables when I need to.

Last but not least, some of the more popular newer projectors have added automatic trapezoid correction. Currently, I have to do it on the fly, which does not take much time, but is definitely annoying.

Despite these limited shortcomings, there is no doubt that this theater has provided an unforgettable experience for me and my friends, and I have listed it as one of my favorite devices of 2023.
