Pixel Buds Pro is tougher than it looks - here's the proof

I've been using the Pixel Buds Pro for a few months now and I really like Google's newest earphones.

They don't work as natively on my iPhone 14 as my other earbuds, the Beats PowerBeats Pro, but I like that the case on the Pixel Buds Pro is much smaller, making them easy to tuck away in my pocket.

I also like the very good active noise canceling feature, and while the sound quality is not in the best wireless earbuds category, it is still strong enough that I never feel like I am missing anything when listening to music.

I also recently discovered that the Pixel Buds Pro are much more durable than I thought they would be.

Last week, someone in my family (I won't say who) decided to wash all of my winter jackets in preparation for the upcoming cold weather. My North Face jacket was put in the washer and dryer, along with my Pixel Buds Pro, which had been left in my pocket.

I didn't realize what had happened until I went looking for my jacket and was told it was between the rinse and dry cycles. The earphones themselves are IPX4 rated, meaning they are protected from water splashes, but the case is IPX2 rated, meaning it only protects against some splashes.

When I took the earphones and case out of my coat, I feared the worst.

But when I put each bud in my ear, they worked as before. The case was also undamaged. Thus, while I would not recommend putting the earbuds in with the laundry, they seem to stand up to the washing.
