Best Buy has revamped its membership program. Formerly known as Best Buy Totaltech ($199/year), it now has a free membership and a membership starting at $49/year. These memberships are similar to Walmart Plus and Amazon Prime. Interestingly, these were announced a few days before Prime Day 2023.

My Best Buy remains a free tier with free shipping (no minimum required); My Best Buy Plus ($49.99 per year) includes access to members-only deals and new releases, free two-day shipping, and an extended 60-day return and exchange acceptance period; My Best Buy Total ($179.99/year) includes the above benefits plus 24/7 Geek Squad support, two years of product protection (AppleCare+) on most new purchases, 20% off repairs, and discounted services (such as on-site installation/removal).

One of the most unique features of the My Best Buy Total plan is that it includes 24/7 technical support and a two-year extended warranty on "most" products purchased at Best Buy. The latter also covers AppleCare+ for Apple products. Considering that Best Buy is one of the stores that offers the best deals on Apple products, this would be a great perk for Apple fans.

AppleCare+ for the 10.9-inch iPad is $69 per year at Apple, and AppleCare+ for the 16-inch MacBook Pro is $149 per year. My Best Buy Total's automatic 2-year warranty will help Apple fans save $179.99 on this service might make the $179.99/year price tag a little easier to swallow for Apple fans.

In addition, My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total members get access to exclusive deals. Since deals are already available to My Best Buy members, it is expected that My Best Buy Plus and Total members will receive even better deals. Best Buy, Amazon's biggest competitor, may offer Best Buy's own deals in response to Prime Day.
