SanDisk will release an officially licensed 1TB microSD card for the Nintendo Switch to celebrate the release of "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdoms."

While the file sizes of the Nintendo Switch's best games may not be as large as the blockbuster titles on the PS5 or Xbox Series X, the console's mere 32GB of internal storage still doesn't stretch much; the Nintendo Switch OLED offers 64 Even GB is probably not enough for most users. For this reason, we recommend installing a microSD card. SanDisk products carry Nintendo's seal of approval and can be used with confidence.

This new 1TB microSD card is SanDisk's highest capacity ever for the Nintendo Switch and features Zelda-themed artwork to celebrate the release of the latest in the series, Tears of the Kingdom. sanDisk 1TB microSD for card Nintendo Switch will be available on Friday, May 26, for a retail price of $149.

As noted above, this is the largest card for Switch released by SanDisk. Previously, the largest Switch card was the 512 GB model released with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. But this new Zelda card has almost double the storage capacity, which comes in handy as Switch games are gradually increasing in file size. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is over 18 GB, while The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt and Mortal Kombat 11 are over 30 GB.

If you just want a little extra storage for your Switch, SanDisk is also releasing a new Yoshi inspired card that provides 64GB of additional storage for the Nintendo console. This SanDisk 64GB microSD card will retail for $15 and will also be available on Friday, May 26. However, a previously released Zelda-themed 64GB SanDisk microSD card is currently available on Amazon for just $10. We recommend purchasing this card instead, as it is the exact same card with different decals, and once the card is installed in the Switch, its appearance will be completely irrelevant.
