Samsung promises a "new premium standard" when 2 Ultra devices are unpacked

If there is one word to describe Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on February 1, it is going to be "Ultra" TM Roh, Samsung's president and head of mobility operations, said today (Jan 17) that the company will unveil two Ultra products at the event that will "set a new premium standard for innovation"

"Powerful performance without compromise," Roh said in a blog post (opens in new tab) promoting the Unpacked event in two weeks" With the stakes now higher than ever, we have raised the bar by pushing performance even further"

Roh's post does not specify what product he is talking about, but given that new Galaxy phones will likely debut at Unpacked, it is clear that one of them will be the Galaxy S23 Ultra This is the latest version of Samsung's top-of-the-line flagship phone and will feature premium features not available on other models

As for the other product, rumors point to a new Galaxy Book laptop coming in Unpacked If so, the other Ultra product Roh is hinting at would be the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra

Rumors surrounding Samsung's laptop plans suggest that the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra will be a lightweight device, possibly lighter than the Dell XPS 15 and Apple MacBook Pro Further rumors suggest that the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra will feature a full-size keyboard and a 13th generation Intel processor

More is known about the Galaxy S23 Ultra thanks to the rumors surrounding this model Like the rest of the Galaxy S23 lineup, it is rumored to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 system-on-chip, which could improve both performance and power efficiency More importantly, leaked sources suggest that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will feature a 200MP main camera sensor

Roh's post alludes to that rumor, with a Samsung executive promising that "our professional-grade camera system is getting smarter" Roh also promises more powerful performance and more seamless connectivity for this year's Galaxy phones

"The upcoming Galaxy will redefine performance and quality, which will build your trust," he added

In addition to these features, Roh also wrote about Samsung's emphasis on sustainability, building devices that last longer and providing extended software support

Galaxy Unpacked will be held in San Francisco at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm GMT The event will be streamed live on Samsung's website (opens in new tab) and we will be on hand with live coverage of what Samsung will be announcing - Ultra devices and more
