Samsung Galaxy A52 just leaked — it may still be the best cheap phone

Detailed leaked information on the Samsung Galaxy A52 reveals an exciting phone that won't cost the world

Priced at €349 (€429 for 5G), the Galaxy A52 could compete with the OnePlus Nord N10, Google Pixel 4a, and iPhone SE by offering a lot of technology for not much money

Last year's Galaxy A51 was by far the average phone However, with the specs leaked by WinFuture, we hope that Samsung is working on this phone's weaknesses

Samsung has reportedly increased the battery from 4,000 mAh to 4,500 mAh This is a solid jump in capacity and could solve the battery life issues we found with the Galaxy A51 [There is no wireless charging option This is a battery specification similar to the OnePlus Nord N10, which has a 4,300 mAh battery and a 30W fast charge

For photography, there are four cameras on the back, identical to the four cameras on the back of the Nord N10

The main camera uses a 64MP sensor, while the ultrawide uses an 8MP sensor There are also 5MP and 2MP cameras, presumably for macro photography and depth effects In addition to these, there is a 32 MP selfie camera on the front, housed in a punch hole notch

The chipset is selectable, depending on whether or not 5G connectivity is desired The base A52 has a Snapdragon 720G, while the 5G version has a slightly more powerful 750G chip

Neither chip is particularly powerful However, it is unlikely that anyone buying a mid-range phone will care about ultimate processing power Besides, it will outperform the Snapdragon 690 chip in the Nord N10, and the 5G version will outperform the Snapdragon 720 in the Pixel 4a

The 6GB RAM, an upgrade from the A51's 4GB, also doesn't look impressive However, it is still a marked improvement over the previous generation and should make using more apps at once smoother

One standout feature would be the 65-inch FHD AMOLED display This is the same resolution as the Nord N10 and Pixel 4a, but larger than both; the Nord N10 has the advantage of a 90Hz display, but no mention of the A52 However, the WinFuture report leaves open the possibility of higher refresh rates

Since this is a budget phone, Samsung is still including a headphone jack and microSD card slot Despite these additional openings in the phone's chassis, the A52 is still IP67 water/dust resistant, which should mean that it will survive an unintentional drop into a sink

Based on previous Galaxy A series announcements, the Galaxy A52 will likely debut in April

If released, it looks like it could well be one of the best budget phone picks, thanks to its broad feature set However, we will need to get our hands on the Galaxy S52 before making a final decision
