Razer's new Kiyo Pro webcam delivers sharp 60p video at 1080fps

Razer has launched the Razer Kiyo Pro. This is a fairly expensive, high-performance camera designed for those looking to dramatically improve their streaming quality.

This premium webcam has so far received four out of five stars in most media reviews, and for good reason. Priced at $199, the Razer Kiyo Pro offers 1080p FHD quality with smooth 60fps and HDR-enabled 30fps images, an adaptive light sensor, and a wide-angle lens with adjustable viewing angle (FOV).

Unlike the previous Razer Kiyo model, the new Pro model does not have a built-in ring light.

According to Razer, the new Kiyo Pro is designed to "achieve professional video standards for streaming and video conferencing."

One of the Kiyo Pro's key advantages is undoubtedly its adjustable frame rate, which delivers 1080p full HD quality at 60 fps, allowing the video stream to flow smoothly without sacrificing sharpness. For those pursuing HDR quality, the Razer Kiyo Pro also offers an option to enable this feature, although the frame rate is reduced to 30 fps.

This premium-quality webcam connects via USB 3.0 and features a high-performance adaptive sensor to deliver crisp, vivid images even in low-light environments. The ultra-sensitive 1/2.8" CMOS sensor automatically adjusts to lighting and ambient conditions to provide "photo-sharp images.

If you want to show more of your setup illuminated by RGB lights or simply want to capture more people, this webcam's wide-angle lens can help: with Razer Synapse software, the Kiyo Pro offers "narrow," "medium," and "wide" three viewing options: "Narrow," "Medium," and "Wide.

The Kiyo Pro is also extremely durable. The webcam lens is designed with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the same material used in flagship smartphones, which is resistant to damage and scratches. The Kiyo Pro also includes a convenient privacy cover.

When it comes to the actual setup, there are more than enough options to choose from. Like a standard webcam, the Razer Kiyo Pro can be comfortably mounted on a gaming laptop or monitor. The tilting stand allows it to be placed on any surface, and it can also be mounted on a tripod of your choice.
