The launch of the PS5 would seem to be a thing of the distant past, at least for those who were able to purchase the console. Yet, four months after its launch, we continue to discover tips and tricks for the system. For example, did you know that you can mute the entire system with this controller? We didn't know either!

This nifty little trick was a surprise even when a complete teardown of the DualSense revealed unexpected features, including possible PS4 compatibility. The DualSense controller has a microphone, which is often forgotten, so if you're not already familiar with the mute mic button, I suggest you get acquainted with it once, it's located just below the PS button, and it's a very handy feature to have if you're not already familiar with the mute mic button, which is located on the DualSense controller.

YouTuber My Mate VINCE, discovered by The Verge, shows how easy it is to mute the entire PS5 system using the dual-sense button. Usually, pressing the button mutes the microphone and lights it orange, so you know your conversation is not being transmitted to an entire lobby full of pre-teens.

However, you can also mute the audio on the PS5 system by holding the button down for a few seconds. You will immediately know if it is working because the orange light will flash and no sound will be emitted from the PS5.

Additionally, System Mute works even with a headset plugged in, so you can quickly mute everything as needed, even in the middle of a gaming session. when you are ready to focus all your attention on the PS5 again, tap the Mute Mic button to bring sound back

Either way, you will be able to mute all of the sounds.

At some point, someone will need to sit down with the PS5's system manual. Then these features won't be a secret that is discovered by accident months after launch.
