These iPhone 13 images are a great guide to what we can expect from Apple this year
The rendered images here are a collaboration between case maker Pigtou and leaker xleaks7 In particular, they show off a (product) RED version of the basic iPhone 13, which gives us a good look at what's new and different between the current and next-generation iPhones
According to this post, the iPhone 13 will be slightly shorter and slightly thicker than the iPhone 12, measuring 14664 x 715 x 756 mm (58 x 28 x 03 inches) This refers to a 61" display like the iPhone 12
The iPhone 13 is expected to have the same size options as the iPhone 12, consisting of the 61-inch iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro models, the 67-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max, and the 54-inch iPhone 13 mini However, recent rumors suggest that Apple will discontinue this smallest model due to poor sales
The bezel around the display is the same size, Pigtou continues, but the notch has shrunk as some rumors claim, and the top speaker is now located within the bezel The notch is said to be thinner, but the vertical size will remain the same Nevertheless, getting more display back from Face ID and the front camera is a bonus
Looking at the back, one can see that the rear camera has been moved Instead of being placed one on top of the other as in previous iPhones, they are now placed diagonally This may be to give the basic iPhone 12 model a more distinct appearance, or to account for the new larger sensors under the exterior
The two cameras are expected to be a main sensor and an ultrawide sensor, similar to what Apple has used in the past few generations of iPhones iPhone 13 Pro models, like iPhone 12 Pro models, will use this basic format, with a square telephoto sensor and LiDAR sensor to the camera bump
Although not visible in these renderings, Pigtou mentions that the iPhone 13 will feature a new chipset and LTPO display The new chip, likely named A15 Bionic, would give the iPhone 13 a performance boost over the previous generation Meanwhile, the LTPO display will allow Apple's 120Hz "ProMotion" refresh rate (seen on the iPad Pro), as well as allowing the refresh rate to vary to save battery life
As if Pigtou's renderings weren't enough, 9TechEleven has also released iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro designs They are based on different leaks from MySmartPrice and 91mobiles, but look almost identical
The base model of the iPhone 13 leaked by MySmart Price is particularly interesting, revealing that it may feature dual front cameras The leaked CAD renderings show three notches in the notch, which could theoretically be two cameras for photography and one camera combined with a Face ID sensor However, it could also have one front camera and two Face ID systems, as in the current iPhone 12
We expect a September launch for the iPhone 13, but Apple may decide on an October launch instead to even out the 12 months since the iPhone 12 launch Regardless of which of the rumored features make it into the retail version, it will remain a high-quality device that will keep Apple at the top of our Best Smartphone Guide
