6 things you didn't see at the Apple event — AirPods3, iPad mini6 and more

The Apple Spring Loaded event ended after a raft of major product announcements from the iPad Pro2021 and its mini LED display to the Apple AirTag tracker and the slim M1 packing iMac2021. But there were also some notable omissions: Apple devices that have been rumored for months, if not particularly tipped for this event, are still

not all of them are likely to launch soon, but here are the 5 biggest potential Apple products we are still waiting for.

Whether it's the new pair of AirPods3 true wireless earbuds or the rumored iPad mini6, these are products to note that spring events have been unwound.

It felt like there was a 50-50 chance that AirPods3 would appear before the Apple event. Multiple reports suggested that the AirPods3 would not be ready for mass production until later this year, although some design leaks have also been filtered, but Apple's next wireless earbuds could have shown a surprise, even if it was just a teaser.

For now, we'll have to wait a bit more, but there's still a good idea as to how AirPods3 will be better than Apple's other rumored products. With the AirPods Pro design and potentially set to copy some features, expect short stems and perhaps spatial audio support, even if there don't seem to be more premium extras like active noise cancellation.

Sometimes the iPad mini can feel like a forgotten child of Apple's tablet lineup. And the apple spring event hit that house for me. A series of leaks and rumors suggest you'll see the iPad mini6 with a micro LED display and a design reminiscent of the iPad Pro and iPad Air. Instead, we got an upgraded iPad Pro and more.

As such, what I expected from the redesign of the iPad mini came to think that it might be the end of the line for the compact tablet. Even in the era of big-screen smartphones, that's a shame because the iPad mini is a killer as a pocket-loaded note-taking, media, and gaming device. But if Apple plans to replace the ipad mini with a foldable device, for example, the iPhone Flip, to offer a smaller tablet experience, I'm angry at Cupertino's shunning of the ipad mini6.

Rumors have been bubbling around about an upgraded Apple M1 chip for future Mac machines. The so-called Apple M1X chip is tipped to be a slice of Cupertino's in-house silicon that powers the iMac2021. However, Apple's refreshed all-in-one computer uses an existing M1 chip and has more performance as it has more space for cooling.

However, the M1X delivers the impressive performance Apple has provided from the m1, further enhancing the power of the CPU and graphics. This is a bit disappointing because I was expecting to get a lot of feedback from the developers. The absence of the M1X chip still means we can expect it to debut on a refreshed or redesigned Macbook later this year.

Apple updated the standard iPad in 2019 with a 9.7-inch to 10.2-inch display upgrade, basically changing to iPad Air from 2019. Then in 2020 the standard iPad got a minor spec boost. But while it still sports a rather outdated design, with a large bezel and home button, the iPad Air had a much more sophisticated makeover. A subtle hint or 2 suggested that you could follow in the footsteps of the new iPad Pro and see the iPad updates revealed at the Apple event. But it did not happen.

If a new entry-level iPad arrives, we want a much more sophisticated design, a Touch ID integrated into the power button and an improved display

With the debut of the new iPad Pro, we wouldn't be surprised to see the third-generation Apple Pencil. Sadly, the Apple Pencil 3 was nowhere to be seen. The second-generation Apple pencil was a more prominent upgrade than the first-generation one, but the third could have added some extra upgrades and color options.

Given that Apple increased the power of the iPad Pro with its m1 chip, the new pencil was not only a smarter option, but also a return to the shiny finish of the original Apple Pencil, which enabled improved sensitivity and responsiveness, but it seems that it will have to wait. But here are some of the best Apple Pencil alternatives in between.

The chatter around the 14-inch MacBook Pro has gathered pace in the second half to the extent that we thought we'd see a pop-up at an Apple event. But if the MacBook Pro's 14-inch is actually working, it may not be ready for at least a few months.

What we wanted to see was a fresh-designed MacBook Pro that pops a 14-inch Retina display into a slim, light chassis. We also wanted to see a possible mini LED display and an improved M1 chip. At the same time as the launch of the 14-inch MacBook Pro, Apple will take the cover of the m1X and possibly use the laptop as the next-generation Apple Silicon flagship machine
