After a slow start this month, PS5 restocks are finally coming back to life; Walmart and Sony Direct are just a handful of retailers that offered to drop the console this week, and we expect all new PS5 restocks soon.

However, despite the increased restocking, securing a PS5 console has not been easy, and with PS5 restocking information from Amazon, Target, Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, and others, you can get a new PS5 during the next restocking event It should be available during the next restocking event.

Purchasing a PS5 directly from Sony via PlayStation Direct is a bit of a hassle. The website has potential customers joining waiting rooms and lines before the PS5 is restocked, which can understandably cause frustration.

To avoid disappointment, PS5StockAlerts advises clearing your cache to enter the waiting room and trying your luck in multiple private tabs, devices, and web browsers. If you enter the waiting room before the countdown ends, you will be randomly assigned a place in the queue.

If you get a message that you are waiting more than an hour, don't be discouraged. This is a standard message that everyone sees; a CAPTCHA must also be entered, so be careful not to rush through and be misidentified as a robot.

Buying a PS5 directly from Sony is the most time-consuming option, but as always, we recommend trying your luck at every retailer until you succeed.

Amazon is a great place to get the PS5, especially since the PlayStation 5 is not region-locked. You can buy the PS5 from almost anywhere, as long as you can get it shipped to your address through a retailer, shipping company, or international friends and family.

It stands to reason that you have an account with payment and shipping details stored, if not, sort that out as a top priority. Also make sure you are buying from Amazon and not third party resellers who may be jacking up prices.

Add the PS5 Regular Edition or PS5 Digital Edition to your Amazon wish list, and when they start restocking, move the console from your wish list to your basket using the "Add to Cart" button. If you have tried to buy a PS5 from Amazon before, you are probably familiar with the problem of the PS5 disappearing from your basket.

In this case, it makes no difference whether you use the Amazon app or the website, but you can maximize your chances by completing the checkout process using both. Also, don't be discouraged if the PS5 is out of stock on the spot; it's a frenzy when PS5s are restocked, and you may have to stick around for 30 minutes to an hour to get it into your cart. Setting up an account with payment details and shipping address is the first thing to do. The ordering process is done online, but keep in mind that Best Buy does not currently deliver PS5 consoles; if you order a PS5, you will need to pick it up in-store.

Once you are able to add the item to your cart, you may get a message that the PS5 is no longer in stock. In that case, you need to choose where the system is in stock; if the PS5 is shown as completely out of stock, leave the page as it is, with the PS5 in your cart. Open a new page and repeat this process until the "Add to Cart" button appears.

Best Buy, like other retailers, releases PS5 inventory in waves, so taking more time with the purchase process will likely pay off as competition wanes as more inventory dwindles and people lose patience.

Retailers also ask for a code that can be emailed or texted. Always choose text and make sure your phone number is linked to your Best Buy account. Speed is of the essence, as text alerts are sent instantly. Don't lose your code in the spam folder.

As always, set up your account by entering your payment details and shipping address; Target offers in-store pickup as well as delivery, but if you want to pick up faster than others, it's best to choose pickup. It's also worth noting that Target releases consoles in waves, dropping the regular PS5 and PS5 digital versions in separate waves; keep refreshing for a while after the PS5 starts restocking.

Jake Randall also suggests setting up payment options such as PayPal, Apple Pay, and RedCard. The advantage here is that these payment options essentially move the payment to a separate server to process the payment, which avoids the heavy congestion on Target's website when PS5 restocking begins. PayPal is recommended over Apple Pay, and these two options are not available, RedCard is the next best option.

Target has an app, so check out on both the website and the app if possible. Once you have PS5 in your cart on one side, you may want to switch to the other to complete the checkout process. As long as you are logged in, the contents of your cart will be recorded.

If the cashier does not have the PS5 in stock, you can change locations to a store that does. Under some circumstances, Target may not allow the register to proceed after a change of location. If this happens, clear your cookies and try again.

The first thing to do - as you might imagine - is to set up your account with your payment details and shipping address. Walmart has an app, so download that too. The retailer offers shipping for PS5 consoles, and while the lead time can take up to four weeks, in many cases you'll have it in your hands before then. So don't fret if you have to wait a few weeks.

PS5 restocking at Walmart typically begins at 12:00 PM Pacific Standard Time / 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. If you are on the site at the time of restocking, the product page will immediately indicate that the product is sold out or that the next restock will be in 10 minutes. If you see this message, keep refreshing the site page until the "Add to Cart" option becomes available again.

At Walmart, the app is your friend. With the app, you can hit the "Add to Cart" button as many times as you like. On the website, you lose precious seconds as it refreshes each time. Keep your cart open in your browser and switch to the app as soon as you add PS5 to your cart.

Once the console is in your cart, wait until the clock shows that the PS5 is out of stock and then wait until the specified time when it will be out of stock. Wait a few seconds and then press checkout, which should allow you to begin the checkout process.

The last tip is an odd one, but affiliate links seem to have a higher success rate than visiting the website directly; for the PS5 regular and PS5 digital versions, this is your best bet, either using the links here or accessing them some other way.
