Razer leaks GeForce RTX3080Ti, 3070Ti Gpus - and they look powerful

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti are almost certain to arrive soon. If you don't believe us, you can believe Razer. The popular PC gaming company recently leaked both GPUs on its gaming desktop pre-order list; the 3070 Ti and 3080 Ti appear to be slightly more powerful than the 3070 and 3080, respectively. The only question is, will anyone really be able to find these GPUs when they come out?

The information comes from sharp-eyed Twitter user harukaze5719, with additional reporting from tech news site HotHardware. Korean tech enthusiast harukaze5719 was browsing Tmall, the official vendor of Razer PCs in China. There he found an option for a Razer desktop configured with a 3080 Ti or 3070 Ti, even though Nvidia has not yet officially announced either card.

If you've been following Nvidia news for a while, you won't be shocked by this information; Nvidia has been teasing the 3070 Ti for almost a year and the 3080 Ti has been leaking similarly at online retailers for the past few weeks. The company may officially unveil the card as early as the Computex keynote on May 31; it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that PC makers are already starting to incorporate these GPUs and are ready to sell machines.

As for the cards themselves, Razer's list seems to confirm what other sources are saying: the 3080 Ti has 10,240 CUDA cores and is potentially more powerful than the base 3080, while the 3070 Ti has 6,144 CUDA cores and is potentially more powerful than the base 3070. The 3070 Ti has 6,144 CUDA cores and is potentially more powerful than the base 3070. (CUDA cores help GPUs process data more efficiently. In general, systems with more CUDA cores are more powerful than systems with fewer.)

Of course, pure power does not always indicate performance. However, the 3080 Ti in particular seems quite powerful, especially considering that the top-of-the-line Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 GPU has 10,496 CUDA cores. This is not a huge difference.

The downside to this whole arrangement is that the 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti are unlikely to become more widely available than the base models. The global semiconductor shortage has made GPUs a luxury item for the time being, and the two new GPUs require the same semiconductors as any other graphics card on the market. As a result, availability will be limited, prices will be high, and the purchasing process will be competitive.

On the other hand, one can purchase a pre-embedded machine, such as the Razer desktop described in this article. While pre-embedded gaming PCs are often more expensive and less specialized than custom-built models, major manufacturers have better GPU pipelines than the average consumer. One option is to wait until the semiconductor shortage eases, but that may take another year or more.
