As outdoor speakers, these are all waterproof, so they can withstand accidental dips in the water or unexpected rain.

As we discovered in our Sonos Roam review, Sonos' latest speaker is a great portable pick. Unlike its predecessor, the Sonos Move, the Roam is easy to toss in a bag and take to your Memorial Day gathering spot. And once you arrive at Roam, you can enjoy its refined sound thanks to Auto TruePlay, Sonos' system that automatically adjusts output based on the speaker's surroundings

.

With an IP67 rating, Sonos Roam is well protected from the elements. It can be dusted off with sand and dust if you go to the beach, and it is waterproof enough to withstand 30 minutes underwater at depths of up to 1 meter.

As a wireless smart speaker, it can also be controlled by voice commands from Alexa or Google Assistant, but it may be best used at home because it requires a Wi-Fi connection. Still, if your yard is within range of a router, you can enjoy the party outdoors.

The Polk Atrium 4 has held the top spot on our Best Outdoor Speakers list for some time, and rightly so. This dual speaker set is affordable, yet outputs crisp audio that sounds great across the entire frequency range. Set it up in your yard and you'll have plenty of acoustic power for any party or barbecue.

Because it is a wired mounted set of outdoor speakers, you cannot take the Atrium 4 outside like the Sonos Roam, nor can you tuck both speakers away in a cupboard when not in use. However, they are relatively compact and built to withstand the outdoors without rusting, so the Atrium 4 will be enjoyed long after Memorial Day is over.

It's a little cheaper than the Sonos Roam in exchange for the lack of Wi-Fi enabled smart features, but as we noted in our review of the UE Megaboom 3, it's still a powerful Bluetooth speaker that will keep Memorial Day parties pleasant and entertaining The UE Megaboom 3 is a great choice for a Memorial Day party. Notably, the Megaboom's IPX7 waterproof rating is on par with the Roam's, so it's safe to accidentally throw it into the pool.

It also has a battery that lasts much longer than the Roam, providing 20 hours of playback compared to the Sonos speaker's 10 hours. This will go a long way if you plan on enjoying Memorial Day celebrations all day long; as is typical of UE speakers, the sound quality is excellent, and they come in a wide range of colors, from simple red and black to camouflage patterns like "jungle gray" and "urban magenta."
