"Battlefield 2042" will launch on October 22, 2021, but EA Play subscribers will have the chance to jump into the war-centric game with a 10-hour early access trial starting October 15.

After the official announcement of "Battlefield 2042" yesterday, EA confirmed that the next installment in the franchise will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X for $70. However, EA Play subscribers will receive 10% off their pre-order of "Battlefield 2042" and will also unlock exclusive awards and members-only content.

Set in the near future, the sixth installment of the "Battlefield" series will feature a map that supports up to 128 players, from the suffix "2042," and will feature a wide range of combat, from ground combat to futuristic jet and wingsuit air combat. Robot dogs will also make an appearance.

There are also real-time weather events, such as tornadoes, that can shake up the action on what may at first seem like an ordinary map. These maps seem to be set across a series of environments, from deserts, mountains, and military bases to futuristic metropolises and even rocket launch sites.

Unlike Battlefield 5, there is no dedicated single-player campaign. However, there will be an extensive multiplayer mode centered around a conflict caused by severe climate change and dwindling resources. The conflict is fought by a group of stateless soldiers known as "No Patrol Specialists" who fight for the world's remaining superpowers.

Multiplayer will consist of three game modes: all-out warfare, hazard zone, and [redacted]; the "All-out Warfare" mode will feature 128-player matches, while the "Hazard" mode will take players into the hazard zone. The last mode has yet to be officially revealed, but Battlefield fans can find out more during the EA Play live stream on July 22.

If they sign up for EA Play, they will have access to Battlefield 2042 seven days before the main game's release date of October 22.

Basic EA Play access starts at $4.99 per month and allows users to try "Battlefield 2042" on a 10-hour trial on October 15. Subscribers will also get an early chance to access the "Battlefield 2042" open beta, but this date has not yet been confirmed.

EA Play Pro subscribers starting at $14.99/month will receive unlimited early access to Battlefield 2042 Ultimate Edition, which includes a digital art book, exclusive soundtrack, "Midnight Ultimate Bundle," and other perks. access.

Non-EA Play subscribers can also pre-order and get early access to the open beta and bonuses such as the "Baku ACB-90 Epic Melee Takedown Knife" and the "Mr. Chompy" dinosaur weapon charm.

Actual game footage of Battlefield 2042 has not yet been released. However, Dice plans to show this off on June 13, when E3 2021 is in full swing and the Future Games Show Summer Showcase will also be held.
