OnePlus' two newest phones, the OnePlus Nord N200 and the OnePlus Nord CE, are aimed at different parts of the world But the similarities and contrasts between them are not what you might expect [The OnePlus Nord N200 and OnePlus Nord CE are in different areas within OnePlus' Nord series of budget phones; the Nord N200 represents another feature-packed alternative to the Nord N100, currently OnePlus' cheapest phone The important thing is that it is unusual at this price point Importantly, it introduces 5G, which is rare at this price point However, the Nord CE is a reworking of the original OnePlus Nord, and while some features have been lost, existing features have been improved, making it a very attractive mid-range model
If you want to know which phone is the best, or what's being missed in your area, read on; we've compared the specs of the Nord N200 and the Nord CE, and we've also compared the Nord CE to the Nord N200 and the Nord Nord CE
The Nord N200 will be available in the US and is not yet available in the UK and beyond It will be priced at $240, higher than the N100 when it was released
The Nord CE will not be released in the US, but will be available in Europe Prices start at 300 pounds, and it has been confirmed that for an additional 70 pounds you can get a version with higher memory and storage
As you can imagine, there are many similarities between the Nord CE and the Nord N200 Both models have a similar punch-hole camera display on the front and a vertical row of cameras on the back; the Nord CE has these cameras on a stadium-shaped camera bump, while the N200 has them on a rectangular block
Both models are available in slightly different colors: the Nord CE comes in Blue Void, Charcoal Ink, and Silver Ray, while the N200 is currently only available in Blue Quantum
As for the screen, the N200 has a 65" LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and FHD resolution, which is quite impressive for this price range, while the Nord CE is slightly smaller at 64" and uses a more power efficient AMOLED display but also offers 90 Hz and FHD
There are three cameras on the back of the N200, but we only know the resolution of the main sensor: it is 13 MP These other cameras are most likely a combination of an ultra-wide-angle camera, a depth camera, or a macro camera For reference, the N100 had a 13MP main camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth camera
Everything is known about the rear camera on the Nord CE: it consists of a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP depth camera
The front of both models has a single selfie camera instead of the original Nord's dual camera; the CE uses a 16MP sensor here, and the N200 is expected to do the same
There is a large gap in processing power between the two Nord phones; OnePlus has confirmed that the N200 will use a Snapdragon 480 chip, with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, an improvement over the N100, but still quite low performance
The Nord CE is still not the standard spec for flagship models, but it is more powerful than the N200; OnePlus uses a Snapdragon 750G in the CE, which also supports 5G This chip comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage or 12GB RAM and 256GB storage
The Nord N200 has a 5,000mAh battery and comes with an 18W wired charger Battery life is long and charging speed is reasonably fast
The Nord CE has a smaller capacity but a faster charger The cell capacity is 4,500 mAh, but it can be charged at up to 30W when plugged in This speed is not the fastest, but it is much faster than many phones in the same price range
There is no difference between the phones in this category Both run on Android 11 with OnePlus' attractively designed OxygenOS 11 skin
For security, both phones have fingerprint sensors, albeit in different locations; the N200's sensor is located on the power button, while the Nord CE has a hidden scanner at the bottom of the display
Smartphone buyers in the US and Europe have reason to envy the cheaper OnePlus phones offered in other regions; the Nord CE offers generally better specs, including faster charging, AMOLED screens, and greater computing power The Nord N200, on the other hand, is a much better phone than the Nord CE The Nord N200, on the other hand, retains the same display resolution and refresh rate, selfie camera resolution, and large battery capacity, but at a much lower price
Consumers do not have the option of choosing between these two phones, but neither do their potential competitors: the Google Pixel 4a, iPhone SE, and Samsung Galaxy A series are all in the same price range, but hardware features vary widely between them Whether it's the Nord CE or the Nord N200, if you're considering buying one now, it would be wise to add it to your list of budget smartphones
