There are a lot of great deals on Apple Watches this Prime Day, but I had my heart set on getting my son an Apple Watch 3. He has started running and it would be great for tracking his pace and overall progress.

Right now Amazon doesn't even have the Apple Watch 3 in stock and Apple is selling it for $199. So when I saw the Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS/38mm) for $169 at Walmart, I immediately added it to my cart.

The Apple Watch Series 3 has been on the market for a while now, but it is the best smartwatch on the market. It has a waterproof design that can't be swum in, and the built-in GPS keeps track of your running pace and distance.

In our review of the Apple Watch 3, we loved the watch's fitness tracking features, design, and Apple Music support. The newer Apple Watch SE has a larger display, drop detection, and optional cell phone connectivity, but the Apple Watch 3 is still great as a starter smartwatch.
