EA Play Live2021: How to Watch and What Games to Expect

With E3 2021 behind us, it's time for the small-scale live game streaming to begin this summer. The next event is EA Play Live, which will take place on July 22. Last year's event made a big splash, showcasing "Star Wars: Squadrons," "Skate 4," "FIFA 21," and more.

This year, expect new information on "Battlefield 2042," "Knockout City," and possibly the return of the popular horror franchise. As for available times, the EA Play Live 2021 broadcast will begin at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. BST.

EA has not yet posted a link to the live stream, but it will almost certainly be available on Electronic Arts' YouTube channel. given that EA has released the live stream information on Twitter, Electronic Arts' Twitter account, it seems unlikely that it would be impossible to embed the livestream link in the account.

The start time indicates EA's pre-show, with the main show to follow, but EA has not said when. (It also appears to be a "countdown to countdown" situation.)

In a follow-up tweet, there was another piece of solid news: the host of EA Play Live 2021 is Austin Creed, aka WWE's Xavier Woods. Creed is no stranger to gaming events, having hosted G4TV. (The reaction was a mixture of applause for the former tag team champions and inquiries about tech support.)

EA did not say anything about the games that will be on display, so fans will have to use their imagination, and a little common sense, to determine what the company will be showing. Battlefield 2042 is a highly anticipated game, and since we saw it in the flesh for the first time at E3, it seems like a very safe bet; EA's website even has the words "Knockout City" under the live stream information, so it's safe to assume that the popular It seems reasonable that there will be one or two updates for the online multiplayer game.

Some fans on Twitter are also theorizing that new information about Dragon Age 4 may finally be announced. It has been a while since the last major update, and one of the Twitter illustrations appears to be in the form of a wolf, which could be a Rorschach test for Dragon Age fans hungry for content.

One intriguing possibility is that EA may be discussing a revival of the dormant action/horror series Dead Space. A handful of credible gaming journalists have suggested that "Dead Space" will be "reimagined" rather than a direct sequel to "Dead Space 3," and that details of the new game will be revealed during EA Play Live. This seems credible, but as usual, we'll reserve judgment until EA says something definite.
