Samsung Galaxy Bud 2 colors and a new case was revealed in the alleged rendering

If the official renderings released by 91mobiles are legitimate, Samsung's Galaxy Buds 2, which will be released later this year, will have a new look. And the combination of multiple color options and a redesigned case makes today's AirPods look boring.

The renderings, which the site claims to have obtained through "reliable industry sources," show the true wireless earbuds introducing a uniform glossy texture in place of the matte and gloss two-tone finish on the original Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds Plus This indicates a design change.

The buds feature two microphones for noise reduction, but reports do not suggest that this product will feature active noise cancellation (ANC).

As can be seen from the renderings, the Galaxy Buds 2 will be available in four colors. In addition to the industry standard black and white, there will be two additional colors: lavender purple and lime green. The current AirPods and AirPods Pro are limited to just white, but expect Apple to mix in a variety of colors with the AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro 2.

Interestingly, according to the renderings, the charging case matches the color of the chosen buds, but it is only present on the lining, which is glossy white on the outside, somewhat reminiscent of the AirPods' charging case.

This time the case may be square in shape with curved edges, reminiscent of Samsung's Galaxy Buds Pro and Galaxy Buds Live holders. There will be charging lights on both the inside and outside of the case to ensure that the device is actually charging when not in use.

According to a recent FCC listing for the Galaxy Buds 2, each earpiece has a battery capacity of 60mAh, and the case itself has 500mAh for a total of four charges. This is about the same capacity as the original earbuds (58mAh), but a big upgrade compared to the charging case, which only had a 252mAh capacity. In our Galaxy Buds review, we found that the earbuds lasted 5 hours and 46 minutes, and it sounds like we can expect the same again - just more charging before the case itself needs to be topped up.

91mobiles is torn between two possible release dates. It suggests that it could be revealed next week, but also acknowledges that Samsung may launch new earbuds in August along with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. We should find out real soon.
