PS5 Replenishment: Best Buy, GameStop, Sony Direct expected to have Shares this week

With the new week comes a new opportunity for PS5 restocking. Last week saw several consoles drop, but several large retailers remained silent. Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, and Sony Direct, for example, have gone several days without news about the PS5.

This means that this week could be a busy week for PS5 restocking. Furthermore, with the new semester sales in full swing, anything can happen as retailers compete for new semester sales.

According to PS5 tracker and TechRadar editor-in-chief Matt Swider, there will be PS5 consoles at Best Buy, GameStop, and Walmart this week; Swider estimates that GameStop's PS5 price cut will occur on Wednesday, July 14 This means that the retailer may be able to get the PS5 console this month. This would be exactly 13 days after the retailer's last online PS5 restocking earlier this month.

Of note, GameStop's PS5 price cut will first be offered to PowerUp Reward Pro members. Membership is $15 per year and comes with other benefits such as a GameInformer subscription and a 10% trade-in credit.

Swider also expects Walmart to have PS5 consoles available as early as Thursday, July 15; Walmart did restock on July 1, but it was very brief, lasting only a few minutes.

Finally, it has been several weeks since we have seen a restock of PS5s from Sony Direct. Sony Direct is one of the best ways to get your hands on a PS5, as they sometimes do invite-only restocking. This is because they are usually announced 30 minutes before the virtual queue opens; Sony Direct usually has an invite-only restock at 3 p.m. ET and a general access restock at 5 p.m. ET.
