Once again, what appears to be a Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 leak may be the most revealing to date in terms of showing the design of the wireless earbuds.

Leaker Evan Blass tweeted a series of unofficial renderings showing what he claims to be the Galaxy Buds 2 earphones and charging case. They include the previously leaked green and purple models. In fact, Blass' images also include a higher quality version of the same renderings.

Of course, we cannot say for sure whether these renderings are accurate, but Blass generally has a pretty good record in this area.

While they don't throw any light on rumored features such as the Galaxy Buds 2's possible active noise cancellation, the rendered images are consistent with what we have seen and heard so far about the headphones. The shape seems to be inspired by Samsung's Galaxy Buds Pro, but the overall texture is uniformly glossy.

The color combination of black, white, green, and purple is also consistent with existing rumors and pre-release images. More generally, the rendered image depicts a somewhat simpler design than the Galaxy Buds Pro, lending credence to the suggestion that the Galaxy Buds 2 will have features and pricing that would place it somewhere between Samsung's premium earphones and the Galaxy Buds Plus. The images are also very simple and well-designed. According to these renderings, the onboard microphone appears to be housed in a simple recessed hole.

Speaking of pricing, MySmartPrice previously claimed that the Galaxy Buds 2 would be priced at $237, a rather unbelievable prospect when the Galaxy Buds Pro has been discounted to $169. TechRadar also reported a very similar price estimate, almost to the dollar.

Since $175 is in between the respective launch prices of the Galaxy Buds Plus and the Galaxy Buds Pro, one would expect the actual price to be at least that much. However, to avoid too much competition with the Galaxy Buds Pro, it may be in their best interest to go a little cheaper.

A (purported) mass leak of product images often heralds the imminent arrival of that product, but this time we have a pretty good idea of when the Galaxy Buds 2 will be available: on August 11, Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event will be held, and the new earbuds, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Watch 4 are all reportedly on the way.
