Razer's new wireless earbuds offer Anc and RGB lighting - less than AirPods Pro

Razer is rarely shy about adding RGB lighting to its peripherals, as anyone who has checked out our best gaming mouse picks knows. The second-generation Razer Hammerhead True Wireless earbuds are the latest to get the light-up treatment, with a glowing Razer logo on each bud. [This is something that was present on the $200 Hammerhead True Wireless Pro but not on the original standard buds. With these upgrades, the new Hammerhead True Wireless has been upgraded from $100 to $129, which is still quite inexpensive for an ANC set.

Like previous models, the latest Hammerhead True Wireless is designed for mobile use, not consoles like the PS5 or Xbox Series X. The just-announced Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 has a similar game mode, but this is only available when paired with a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, so the Razer pair could be a more platform-agnostic option.

It is also worth reiterating that RGB lighting does not boil down to a handful of colors to cycle through; the Razer Audio app lets you configure lighting for connected PC peripherals, just as Razer's Synapse desktop software

In addition to beating the AirPods Pro in price and color options, the new Hammerhead True Wireless is also IPX4 waterproof and claims an excellent battery life of 6.5 hours on a single charge. [In addition to the Galaxy Buds 2, the $149 Beats Studio Buds and the $99 Nothing Ear (1) have proven themselves worthy of joining the ranks of the best noise-canceling earphones; the Razer Hammerhead True Wireless is a great choice for these models, it remains to be seen if they can compete, but there's no denying that they offer something a little different, with customizable RGB lighting.
