Call of Duty Vanguard Teaser Trailer Drops- Fully Revealed on Thursday

"Call of Duty: Vanguard" has officially been confirmed as the 2021 entry in the annual first-person shooter franchise. While the name and a few details were leaked a few weeks ago, this is the first time publisher Activision has officially revealed this year's game.

The latest installment in the hugely popular series was announced on Monday, with the official Call of Duty Twitter account posting a short trailer. It is only two minutes long and is definitely a teaser trailer, but it finally confirms what has been leaked online for some time: the game will be titled "Call of Duty Vanguard" and will be set in World War II.

This live-action trailer tells little more than that. It does, however, show off four unique locations, giving hints of the various settings in which the game will take place. Also hidden in the background of each is a face, and these may be members of the titular Vanguard.

Key art for the game has also been released, focusing on four soldiers in combat. These mysterious characters will likely play an important role in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Perhaps they will be a unique character class in the multiplayer, or they may play an important role in the game's single-player campaign (if any).

"Call of Duty Vanguard" will take place on August 19 at 1:30 p.m. EST (10:30 a.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. UK EST) at a special event within the very popular free online battle royale game "Call of Duty Warzone". The game will be unveiled globally. Last year's "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War" also had a grand unveiling within Warzone.

It has also been confirmed that "Call of Duty Vanguard" is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, as previously rumored. The developer previously took the lead on 2015's Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and 2017's Call of Duty: WWII. The latter was the last entry in the "Call of Duty" franchise to be set in World War II. The latest installments in the series are all set in the Cold War, the present day, and the near future.

No release date or platform information has been revealed at this time. However, given the annual nature of the Call of Duty series, it is assumed that the game will be released in October or November of this year. As for platforms, it is almost certain that the game will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, with a PS4 and Xbox One version likely to be released as well.

Call of Duty Vanguard will face stiff competition for the attention of online shooter players this fall, as both Battlefield 2042 and Halo Infinite are scheduled for release by the end of the year. Nevertheless, the game's historical setting will make it stand out against its futuristic contemporaries.
