At the PlayStation Showcase 2021, "Borderlands" developer Gearbox Software announced details of the quirky and whimsical "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands," featuring the series' familiar "bunker master." The game is inspired by the "Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep" DLC for Borderlands 2.

According to the PlayStation blog, the loot shooter's "distorted take on high fantasy" is filled with wild landscapes and orange soda waterfalls.

It remains to be seen if Queen Blowupington will make an appearance, or if the loot will include a billion guns like Gearbox said would be available in Borderlands 3. Anything is possible, but expect a lot of chaos and many more nodes to the "Borderlands" franchise.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is scheduled for release on March 25, 2022 for PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.

The game has three ordering options: $59.99 for Standard, $69.99 for Next Level, and $89.99 for Chaos Great.

The pre-order bonus for the standard version includes the Golden Hero Armor Pack. The game features customizable armor, and pre-orders get a 24-karat skin.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Treasure Trove

The announcement trailer for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands was unveiled on June 10 in truly epic RPG fashion. The trailer included an epic orchestral number and a battle between a brave hero wielding what looked like a multi-barreled rifle and a menacing dragon. The trailer revealed the voice talents of Andy Samberg, Will Arnett, Wanda Sykes, and Ashley Burch, who will voice the hero.

And then there was the grand entrance of Bat Stallion, Queen of the Unicorns, as she bravely vanquished the dragons in a glowing, colorful explosion.

The gameplay trailer was released on September 9. For a few eerie seconds, the trailer sounds and looks ominous, but Tina's narration forces us not to take this game too seriously, making it sound like a seamless addition to the "Borderlands" franchise.

Fans of the "Borderlands" series will be familiar with the game's UI and the multiple options for using weapons and Siren magic. Players will progress through a series of dungeons and encounter strange and horrifying characters. Yes, even stranger than the Mad Max-inspired villains known to inhabit the various planets in Borderlands.

As in the "Assault on Dragon Keep" expansion to "Borderlands 2," Tiny Tina's skills as a game master will be on full display as adventurers explore.

Not much is yet known about the story behind this game. However, it is expected that the Borderlands' band of misfits will once again be venting their frustrations at headquarters and indulging their passion for Tiny Tina's board game RPGs.

In this saga, the evil Dragonlord returns to take over the world. On their way to defeat him, they will be attacked by goblins, skeleton pirates, and even land sharks. And, as is typical of the Borderlands, you'll get tons of loot.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is even more quirky looking than other Borderlands titles. At first glance, it looks similar to other Borderlands titles, except that the characters are thrown into a fantasy world.

Expect more gameplay videos featuring more details on spells and available weapons as more information is released.
