Figuring out where to buy an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, GeForce TX 3090, or really any Nvidia GeForce 30 series card at MSRP is a tricky business thanks to the ongoing chip shortage. However, new rumors suggest that Nvidia is preparing to launch two new series GPUs in 2022.

Specifically, @Greymon55, a well-known GPU rumor mill, claims that Nvidia plans to release a refreshed line of GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs for both notebook and desktop PCs early next year. These GPUs will bear Nvidia's trademark "Super" branding (e.g., Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Super), with the laptop version reportedly coming first, possibly early enough to be featured at CES 2022 in January, and the desktop version likely to appear before the end of the year.

Paul Eccleston of RedGamingTech released a video this month supporting this claim, stating that he has heard that Nvidia is aiming to announce GeForce RTX 30 series Super cards at CES 2022.

He also cautions not to expect a significant performance increase over current GeForce RTX 30 series cards, claiming that these cards will likely offer a 5-10% performance increase over non-Super versions The real goal, according to Eccleston, is to have more GeForce RTX cards that are more powerful than the current GeForce RTX 30 series cards, Nvidia to bring more cards to market and alleviate the current graphics card supply shortage.

Then there are rumors of Nvidia's next generation GeForce graphics card, codenamed "Lovelace," which is said to debut in late 2022; Greymon55 now claims that the next generation GPU will launch next October and that AMD This makes sense given that they have already confirmed that the next generation Zen 4 and RDNA 3 hardware will be available in 2022. This means that we can expect both Nvidia's new GeForce RTX 4000 series cards with Lovelace and AMD's new Radeon 7000 series cards with RDNA 3 by Halloween 2022.

If all goes well, there could be great relief in store for those desperate to buy a new GPU out of pocket.
