Recent Google Pixel phones don't take a long time to charge, but neither do they keep pace with models like the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra But that could change
According to a Taiwanese regulatory certification label discovered by XDA Developers, the Google Pixel 6 Pro may have the fastest wired charging speed of any Pixel phone to date, at 33W
The label lists four different charging speeds for the Google phone that XDA Developers claims is the Pixel 6 Pro The charging speeds are listed in volts and amps: 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 9V/3A, and 11V/3A
XDA Developers has found that these numbers translate to 15W, 18W, 27W, and 33W respectively According to other leaked information, 33W seems to be the most likely charging speed Google will adopt for the Pixel 6 Pro
These speeds may not be industry leading, as Oppo, OnePlus, Xiaomi, and others offer fast charging at 65W or higher However, the Pixel 6 Pro could offer significantly faster charging speeds than older Pixel phones, as the Google Pixel 5 could only offer 18W fast charging
The Pixel 6 Pro has a 5,000 mAh battery and is expected to have solid battery life, but it has a custom Tensor chip that may be able to handle AI-centric and other demanding tasks, which could consume power at a faster rate There is a possibility Therefore, the ability to charge at high speeds may allow for some compromises in exchange for potentially shorter battery life
The Pixel 6 is also said to have faster wireless charging speeds, but this is not mentioned on this certification label
Compared to other current flagship smartphones, the 33W charging exceeds the iPhone 13's 20W wired charging and the Samsung Galaxy S21's 25W charging, but lags behind the Oppo Find X3 Pro with 65W charging However, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22 is expected to have 45W charging and may fight back against the Pixel 6
The Pixel 6 Pro will feature a 671-inch 120Hz refresh rate display, three rear-facing cameras, 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage, along with improved charging speeds and a Google-designed chipset Shots of the actual Pixel 6 Pro also show that it will have an eye-catching design, thanks to the bold rear camera rubber
We expect the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro to be announced rather soon, probably in October based on previous pieces of information and previous Google smartphone announcements
