Fans were upset earlier this month when they heard that Sony's premier racing simulation game, Gran Turismo 7, would be delayed to 2022, but at least the company provided an update on what the lavish anniversary edition will include.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Sony surprised racing fans today by announcing the 25th anniversary edition of Gran Turismo 7. Featuring multiple sports cars and an array of digital goodies, including in-game credits, this special edition is intended not only to celebrate the franchise, but also to jumpstart players' online careers.

There are multiple versions to choose from, and almost all of them come with perks. One of the best is a set of two Gran Turismo 7 games, one for the previous generation console and one for the current generation console. This way, PS4 players don't have to pay an extra $10 to upgrade their version after they finally get their PS5.

First up is Gran Turismo 7 Launch Edition, priced at $79.99. This is the version available to players who pre-ordered the game early. Digital content includes the Toyota Castrol TOM'S Supra, Mazda RX-VISION GT3 Concept (Stealth), and Porsche 917K Living Legend. Also included are 100,000 in-game credits (CR), which are typically used to purchase parts, customization options, and other vehicles.

Next up is the 25th Anniversary Edition. It is priced at $89.99 and is available in two versions: a limited physical edition and a digital bundle edition. The physical edition includes a limited steelbook case, a PS5 Gran Turismo 7 game disc, a PS4 digital voucher, 1.1 million CR, 30 manufacturer/partner avatars, and multiple unlockable cars (including those included in the GT7 launch edition). The package also includes the "Gran Turismo" launch edition. Also included is the official Gran Turismo soundtrack, The Music of Gran Turismo.

The final bundle, called the 25th Anniversary Digital Deluxe Edition, is supposedly for players who purchased the digital-only PS5 version, and includes digital extras for both the PS4 and PS5 versions.

Each version of Gran Turismo 7 is currently available for pre-order at participating retailers and the PlayStation®Store; quantities of the 25th Anniversary Edition are limited.

Sony is currently limiting the number of people who can set up a store, so if you go directly to PlayStation, you will have to wait a while. Nevertheless, there is plenty of time to pre-order Gran Turismo 7 before the March 4, 2022 release date.
