Diablo 2: Resurrected Mods is here, but I didn't expect it to be here so soon As for me? I couldn't be happier
Dozens of Diablo 2: Resurrected mods have already started appearing on NexusMods and ModDB From difficulty fixes to special purpose tweaks like hiding helmets, there's a little something for players of all levels, especially those who have spent hours tinkering with the original Diablo 2
Diablo 2: Resurrected was accompanied by a few tweaks of its own when it debuted on September 20 It offered new 3D models for classic game sprites and other graphical improvements that players could turn off and on
The remake supports 4K resolution and 71 Dolby Surround sound But while there are improvements in gameplay and quality of life, fans can always think of new ways to further enhance what is already there In fact, I can think of plenty, and that's why it's so nice to see people putting their modding talents to good use this early in a game's life cycle
Having played "Diablo 2" for many years, I have spent countless hours with friends in the game, repeating the same acts over and over, trying new character builds, and laughing all over town It feels surreal to come back full circle after having played the original so many years ago It could have been stale long ago, but the mods kept it fresh and exciting It would have been frustrating otherwise This new start to the cycle is fascinating in several ways Especially now that I'm older, this is an adventure I'd like to share with my friends, and there are plenty of newbies to help me face the dangers of hell
Diablo 2: Resurrected's crop of new mods has not reached the same scope as the original, given that enthusiasts have spent 20 years working on it However, the variety of mods is slowly growing, and there are a few that stand out from the rest Rather than the familiar day one mods that add hilarious cartoon characters to the game, these mods are focused on enhancing the experience and are a sign of an enthusiastic but very serious love for the game
The Better SP mod, in particular, is chock full of changes such as faster walking and running speeds, higher stack limits for arrows, keys, tomes, and other items, and higher mana regeneration A series of changes have also been made to the classic cattle levels
Not interested in a complete overhaul and want to make more minor changes, like the Enemy Multiplier, which is intended to increase the difficulty of the game by increasing the amount of enemies you can tear through, the Guaranteed Drop Mod or the D2R Drop Mod, both increase the likelihood of getting good loot from enemies There is also a Hide Helmet Mod if you are more concerned with aesthetic options
Now all we need is some additional character customization options and we'll finally be satisfied I am sorry, but I have never found the Amazon high ponytail appealing I like to use my bow and arrow to slay demons, so I would like it to stand out more That would have been better than the modifications made to the Amazon, but alas, a custom character was probably not in the cards
As the days go by, the number of mods on both sites will double or triple (or more), and while it will obviously take time to reach Diablo 2 levels, if you are eager for more ways to enjoy this classic dungeon crawler, it is something to watch out for! It is definitely something to look out for I have already pre-ordered a few downloads
