Update: Three allegedly leaked screen protectors give clues as to how Samsung's Galaxy S22 model will be received There are also further hints about the Note-like design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra

The regular and Pro models of the Samsung Galaxy S22 are set to look nearly identical to the S21 and S21 Plus devices, but one model is reportedly deviating in a dramatic new direction

From what we've heard, the S22 Ultra will be MIA Samsung Galaxy Note 21 in everything but name, complete with an elegantly curved design, a huge screen and space for a built-in S Pen If the rumors are correct, this will be the device that people have been clamoring for all these months, pleading with Samsung to release a new version

Dutch site LetsGoDigital published a series of renderings by artist Giuseppe Spinelli, showing us what the phone will look like when Samsung unveils it next year

Most of the images focus on the back of the phone and its somewhat unusual quintuple-lens layout - the previously anticipated P-shaped bump upgrade has been rumored recently - but it actually imagines a more impressive front of the phone 68-inch AMOLED display covers the entire face of the device with attractive, classy rounded edges, something Samsung has excelled at since the Galaxy S6 Edge In the center of the display is a pinhole notch, which is in the same position as the current Galaxy S21 Ultra

The images don't actually show the S Pen dock clearly, but its presence is felt in several shots, each matching the color of the host device And speaking of colors, Spinelli imagines three colors for the S22 Ultra: a conservative black and white option is joined by a more eye-catching shade of red Ice Universe, a well-correct leaker, thinks that if none of these appeal to you, there will also be a shade of green available

Of course, it's what's inside that matters, and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is shaping up to be a phone in a league of its own Not only did its predecessor, the S21 Ultra, have a 108MP camera and 12-16GB of RAM depending on the region, but this time around it may have a chip built in conjunction with AMD

The elephant in the room, of course, is price With Samsung's Galaxy S21 Ultra starting at $1,199 without the S Pen, this device could be ridiculously expensive; we'll know for sure early next year when the S22 series is scheduled to launch
