The Steam Halloween Sale will run from October 28 to November 1, the Steam Autumn Sale from November 24 to November 30, and the Steam Winter Sale from December 22 to January 5, 2022.

This is according to documentation in an update to Steam's developer system Steamworks, found by sibling site PC Gamer.

Interestingly, Valve has not issued a formal release regarding these upcoming sales. Nevertheless, Valve is sometimes silent, and sometimes simply updating the site is enough for fans and publications to spread the news spontaneously. Just to be sure, we sent an email to Valve to see if the above dates were accurate, but as of this writing, we have yet to receive a response.

As for the sale itself, we don't know which games will be discounted, but we can make some predictions. Being the end of the year, some of the hottest titles of 2021 are expected to be discounted there.

We wouldn't be surprised to see price cuts on Resident Evil: The Village, Hitman 3, Death Loop, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Scarlet Nexus, Life is Strange, True Colors, Nier Replicant: True Colors, Nier. Replicant, Little Nightmare II, and The Medium, all of which would not surprise me if they dropped.

We also expect titles from the Steam Summer Sale earlier this year to reappear, including Control, Death Stranding, Hades, Half-Life: Alyx, Horizon: Zero Dawn, It Takes Two, The Outer Wilds, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Steam sales are also a great opportunity to find older titles at bargain prices. Some are classics from years ago, while others are interesting indie titles that may have passed you by when they were first released.

Not to be outdone, the Epic Games Store has also launched a Halloween sale. It would not be surprising if other online stores such as GOG Galaxy, Ubisoft Store, EA Origin, PlayStation Store, and Microsoft Store also have adjacent sales. A great site to compare deals.
