Sony State of Play 2021-10 — Time, Date, forecast, and How to Watch

Sony has announced its next State of Play live stream, a 20-minute showcase that will showcase upcoming PS5 and PS4 titles, as well as a few surprise announcements.

Unfortunately, PlayStation exclusives such as "Horizon: Forbidden West," "God of War: Ragnarok" and "Gran Turismo 7" will not be on display. However, that does not mean that this live stream is not worth watching for PlayStation gamers eager to get a glimpse of upcoming titles.

This latest State of Play was confirmed in a post on the PlayStation blog late last week. The post reads: "This time around, we're focusing on announcements and updates for upcoming third-party titles coming to PS5 and PS4." While this doesn't tell us much, we could make some predictions as follows.

We also expect some surprises that no one is expecting. So here's how to watch Sony's PlayStation State of Play October 2021 and what we expect to be shown on the live stream.

The October 2021 State of Play will take place today, Wednesday, October 27, at 5pm ET/2pm ET/10pm ET and will be streamed on a variety of platforms including Twitch and YouTube.

There does not appear to be any kind of pre-show, but you can join the stream now to make sure you don't miss a single moment. The link to start watching is above.

The showcase is scheduled to last 20 minutes and will feature a variety of upcoming PS5 and PS4 titles; no PlayStation first-party games are expected to appear, and it is unlikely that "Spider-Man 2" or "Wolverine" will be included.

Sony has been fairly forthright about what to expect from the State of Play live stream, which will focus on third-party releases rather than games from PlayStation Studios developers.

One game that will certainly be featured is Little Devil Inside, and PlayStation announced on Twitter that it will premiere the upcoming action-adventure game at the latest State of Play showcase. So far, this is the only title that has been confirmed for the showcase.

Could this showcase finally bring back "The Hogwarts Legacy"? This RPG set in the world of Harry Potter has not been seen since it was announced at Sony's PS5 event last year. Fans have been waiting for an update, and perhaps the time has finally come.

It is also possible that games such as "Final Fantasy XVI," "Gotham Knights," and "Lord of the Rings: Gollum" will be on display. All of these titles would be logical inclusions for this State of Play, as they are third-party titles that have been largely absent from the showcase throughout the year.

The recently announced Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy may also get a new trailer now that it has a release date. Expect to see promotion of this remastered collection in full swing in the coming weeks.

Also, don't be surprised if "Call of Duty: Vanguard" makes an appearance, as PlayStation has a marketing deal with Activision for this game, which often appears during Sony events.
