Wal-Mart follows up on worst PS5 replenishment ever in Another Disastrous Drop

Earlier this week, Walmart restocked the PS5 After a restock plagued by many technical problems, one might think that the retailer would take some time to fix its internal ordering system before attempting a restock, but instead, it appears to have done the opposite

Yesterday (November 2), the giant retailer restocked PS5 for the second time this week, and this restock was just as disastrous as the first Thankfully, the persistent screen flickering problem that wreaked havoc during the first Wal-Mart restocking this week did not recur, but in every other respect, it was a terrible failure

A Reddit thread dedicated to the PS5 restock has attracted more than 115 comments, mostly complaining about retailers' inability to implement the drop smoothly One of the biggest complaints seems to be that many customers were caught in the CAPTCHA verification phase It seems that proving to Walmart that you are a human and not a bot is harder than it looks

Even some customers who managed to get through authentication were reportedly greeted with a PS5 listing page plagued with multiple technical problems For some, the Add to Cart button did not load at all Others reported being returned to the Walmart home page and asked to return to the virtual waiting room, even though they had placed the console in their cart

Other shoppers reported that the website crashed frequently, forcing them to reload and start the whole process over It is fair to say that this drop-off was more common among frustrated users than among new PS5 buyers

It should be noted that selling a product where demand exceeds supply will always lead to some degree of disappointment for customers who fail to secure an order At this point, however, there is no excuse for the PS5 restocking to be so badly managed Wal-Mart has been selling this console for over a year and has had time to implement a system to allocate inventory with minimal hassle We have reached out to Wal-Mart for comment on this issue

Unfortunately, the demand for the PS5 will not go away anytime soon, especially with the Black Friday sales season approaching Needless to say, there will undoubtedly be even more people looking to secure their next gaming console during the holiday season If you're still looking, bookmark our PS5 restocking hub for the latest restocking info
