Xbox Series X gets Gucci10,000Gucci treatment — sucks on that scalper!

It's no secret that Microsoft has struggled to keep the Xbox Series X in stock since its launch a year ago. However, if you really want to get one before Christmas and have $10,000 (about $1 million) sitting in your pocket, you could purchase a limited edition version in collaboration with the luxury fashion brand Gucci.

Unfortunately, there is no word on a $6,000 version for the Xbox Series S.

This is a strange collaboration and makes one wonder what Gucci is doing with Microsoft and vice versa. The only connection between Gucci and Microsoft is that they share an anniversary: the 100th anniversary of Gucci and the 20th anniversary of Xbox. Not only are these the initials of Guccio Gucci, they are also the initials of "good game."

Sure, $10,000 is 20 times the MSRP of the $499 Xbox Series X (and 12 times the average resale price on Ebay), but at least it comes with some extras: a GG-patterned Xbox Series X, plus the familiar Gucci house web strip in blue and red Two customized Xbox wireless controllers and a vintage luggage-style carry case to hold everything. As far as we can tell, it's at least real luggage, but with gaudy green "Xbox" and "good game" lettering plastered on the front and back, it's not something you'd necessarily want to take to the airport.

The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is also offered to an unspecified number of people. So there's no need to lament that you've spent your entire gaming budget on fancy luggage, a slightly battered console, or a fancy gamepad, which is somewhat compelling given that "Halo Infinite" will be available on the Game Pass from day one. Especially since the "Halo Infinite" campaign looks like a great homage to the old "Halo" games.

Still, there is always the possibility that prices will rise over time, even after the shortage is resolved. Since only 100 of these monster machines were produced, there is a good chance that they will become collector's items. It is even rarer than the $10,000 gold-plated PS5 unit that currently makes 250 lucky gamers squint every time the sun hits the chassis.

If you're willing to take that gamble, the Gucci Xbox Series X goes on sale November 17; 100 units will be sold exclusively at Gucci's physical stores in New York, London, Tokyo, Beverly Hills, Mexico City, Milan, Berlin and Beijing.

But what's a few hundred dollars more for a plane ticket when you've already spent $10,000 on a gaming console? Check out the Xbox Series X restocking information instead. And the Xbox Anniversary Commemorative Livestream should be something real Xbox fans want to see.
