Right now, B+H Photo has the Apple MacBook Pro (mid-2020) for $999. With $300 off the original price, you can get a MacBook Pro for under $1,000. The starting price for the current MacBook Pro is $1,299. Of course, the newer model with Apple's proprietary M1 silicon built in is faster, but this is still a bargain.

This model is one of the last MacBooks released on the Intel platform. It has Intel's 1.4GHz Intel Core i5 4-core (8th generation) CPU, 8GB of RAM, and integrated Intel Iris Plus Graphics. Storage is provided by a 256GB SSD and a 13.3-inch 2,560 x 1,600 pixel Retina display. Like other models of this generation, it has a Touch Bar for easy shortcuts, a comfortable Magic Keyboard, and two Thunderbolt 3 ports.

In our review of the MacBook Pro 2020, we mentioned that the Magic Keyboard is great. But if that is not an obstacle, this model packs enough punch for your creative needs.
