The Eternals, immortal aliens created by the Celestials, have secretly lived on Earth for thousands of years to protect humanity from the evil Deviant At some point the Eternals disbanded, but were reunited after the events of The Avengers: After the events of Endgame, they reunite to once again fight the Deviant

Aside from the A-list cast and director, not much is known about the plot of Eternals or its connection to other films in the MCU Along with Shang Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, it heralds the arrival of Phase 4 on the film front (along with a ton of Disney Plus series)

Here is what we know so far about Eternals

Watch "Eternals" online at Disney Plus soon

On Friday, December 10, Disney Plus announced in a press email that "Eternals" will be available on Disney Plus on January 12, 2022 The film was released on November 5, 2021

Like other MCU films, "Eternals" was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic It was originally scheduled to be released in November 2020

We are tracking all the news and leaks regarding the post-credit scenes for "Eternals," which Marvel has wrapped up ever more tightly; one scene has leaked to some extent, but we know absolutely nothing about the other, and we are still waiting to see how the film will turn out

The latest and last trailer for The Eternals begins with Salma Hayek riding a horse to meet Richard Madden She tells how Thanos wiped out half the universe and the return of all its people created the energy that made possible the cataclysm known as "Emergence" Now they must reunite their fellow Eternals to save humanity from extinction

The first official "clip" from "Eternals" shows the heroes fighting off a band of Deviant Monsters terrorizing the people of Earth The clip features Kumail Nanjiani's Khingo, Lauren Ridloff's Makkari, and Richard Madden's Ikaris, with Khingo blowing bolts out of his fingers

At the end of the clip, Kingo and Makkari communicate in ASL

The first trailer gave a glimpse of how Eternal lives up to its name and spreads across generations and continents

Marvel also previously gave us a little sneak peak in the mega-preview of the upcoming film

Starting at 2:20 in the video below, Salma Hayek rides a horse and says in voiceover, "When you love something, you fight for it" From there, the video shows fragments of sword-wielding Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden leading the group, and a jacked-up Kumail Nanjiani, who coolly removes his sunglasses

The cast of "Eternals" is stellar, to say the least And it marks the reunion of two of the stars of "Game of Thrones" Here is the lineup:

Angelina Jolie as Senna: Eternal, a fierce warrior who can create any weapon from cosmic energy

Salma Hayek as Ajak: the wise and spiritual leader of the Eternal, with healing abilities He can communicate with the Celestials

Richard Madden as Ikaris: Tactical leader of the Eternals who flies, projects cosmic energy beams from his eyes, and has superhuman strength

Kumail Nanjiani as Khingo: Eternals who can project cosmic energy from their hands He becomes a popular Bollywood movie star in order to blend in on Earth

Gemma Chan as Selsey: Eternal who has an affinity for humanity and can manipulate matter She has loved Icaris for centuries and poses as a museum curator on Earth

Lauren Ridloff (as McCully): an Eternal with cosmic powers who scouts planets at super-speed; the first deaf superhero in MCU productions; she is also the first deaf superhero in the MCU

Brian Tyree Henry as Fastus: Eternal inventor who secretly helps mankind make technological advances; the first superhero portrayed as gay in an MCU film

Don Lee as Gilgamesh: The most powerful Eternal who can project an exoskeleton of cosmic energy Thena's partner

Leah McHugh as Sprite: Eternal who can project realistic illusions and looks like a 12 year old kid

Barry Keoghan as Druig: An Eternal who can use cosmic energy to control the minds of others He becomes distant from other Eternals because of his opposition to interaction between other Eternals and humanity

Kit Harrington as Dane Whitman: A human warrior who wields a mystical sword

According to the comics, the Eternals derive from a popular mythology dating back to the dawn of mankind An ancient overseer known as the Celestials arrived on Earth and divided its inhabitants into three sects

The Deviants were indeed a great threat, but the Eternals were also their own greatest enemies A civil war erupted between them long ago, splitting them into two groups, one led by Kronos and the other by Uranos Kronos and the "good guys" were victorious and remained on Earth, while Uranos and his followers were banished to Titan

Deviant is expected to be the villain in this film

Now, Titan should sound familiar to anyone who followed the story of Thanos from the first to the third MCU Yes, Thanos is an Eternal, born to the leader of the Titans

Unlike the Titans, the Eternals on Earth look like humans
