Halo Infinite fixes 1 of its biggest multiplayer issues

Overall, I enjoyed "Halo Infinite," but there were a few problems, especially with the multiplayer. One of the main problems was the lack of choice, as all of the games available to play were random.

However, 343 Industries, the developer of "Halo," has announced that a new playlist will be added to "Halo Infinite" multiplayer.

Since the multiplayer launch on September 15, "Halo Infinite" has been tied to four multiplayer playlists: quick play, ranked mode, 24-player big team battles, and bot boot camp, where four players battle the AI.

These playlists have multiple game types, but you cannot choose what to play. So if you want to play Slayer mode, where the goal is to defeat the enemy, you will need to play Capture the Flag or Strongholds games.

Today, this is changing, as Halo Infinite's multiplayer mode will feature an all-new playlist that includes Halo classics. The big news is that there will be a dedicated Slayer playlist, alongside a more tactical SWAT mode in which players equip battle rifles and rip off shields.

In addition to this, there will also be a permanent "Fiesta" playlist, which will randomize which weapons and equipment to spawn with in the 4-on-4 slayer mode, and a "Free-for-All" playlist, which will abandon team mechanics and pit Spartans against each other.

This should provide a bit more variety in play, especially for those who prefer killing enemies to object-based game types.

343i also removed a "particularly frustrating mode-specific" challenge from Hall Infinite's Battle Pass progression and "several other requirements" to make the weekly Ultimate Challenge "less intensive and reduction".

This is another win for gamers since completing challenges is the only way to level up a Spartan. Being stuck with a challenge that requires a specific game type to complete and being dropped into every mode but the one you want by a randomized system is an incredibly frustrating problem.

There will also be new challenges involving player score accumulation, which 343 claims will be a "small initial step toward performance-based XP" like Halo has been in the past.

The new update has not yet been released and was not yet available when I checked out Halo Infinite, but should be available by the end of the day. Please check to see if there is an update before trying out the multiplayer.
