The iPhone 14 is said to be upgraded with a 48-megapixel camera and 8GB of RAM, specs that will challenge the best Android phones
This is according to a research note from Haitong International Securities (via MacRumors), where analyst Jeff Pu says that both the rumored iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will feature a 48MP wide-angle camera plus This is in addition to the 48MP wide-angle camera currently featured on the iPhone 13 Pro This would be a big step up from the 12MP main lens currently found on the iPhone 13 Pro
This is not the first time this news has come to light; Ming-Chi Kuo made similar claims about a 48MP camera in April; Kuo claimed that there would be two different sizes of the iPhone 14, a 61-inch and a 67-inch, and we later learned that this could be the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and we were told that both would include a 'Max' version of the phone That's right, the iPhone 14 mini may not make an appearance
Pu also predicts that the iPhone 14 Pro model will have 8GB of RAM However, Apple's approach to efficiency and tight control of both hardware and software meant that its iPhones have been able to match or beat flagship Android phones even with less on-board RAM Therefore, adding 2GB of RAM would allow even more, making the iPhone a performance powerhouse
In addition to this, Pu also claims that all four iPhone 14 models will offer a 120Hz refresh rate, which is currently limited to the iPhone 13 Pro model
Even though it is still quite early, we are already starting to get a picture of what the iPhone 14 series will look like; the fate of TouchID and the long-anticipated under-display fingerprint scanner is not so clear, but Apple's announcement next year that the notch We have already heard recent news that Apple may ditch the notch next year
Pu has a mixed track record when it comes to Apple So while some of his predictions sound reasonable, we will have to be patient and wait and see what Apple has in store for us In the meantime, check out our iPhone 14 hub for the latest news and leaks
