Oppo's Find N foldable phone has been officially unveiled At INNO Day 2021 today (December 15), Oppo unveiled a product that has been years in the making and has Samsung and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 worried (as an aside, our take on how the Oppo Find N vs Galaxy Z Fold 3 battle will play out (see below) Or it will be if Oppo plans to release the Find N outside of China
Oppo wanted to draw special attention to the hinge design and software features to make the Oppo Find N more sturdy and convenient to fold; Oppo also said it has not skimped on the phone's photo-taking capabilities All in all, we think the Find N looks like a truly beautiful device
Let's take a closer look at the Oppo Find N's specs
The most interesting thing about the Find N is the hinge, which features a very intricate design; Oppo says that the ingenious design of this hinge has eliminated the hinge gap found in other folding devices In the Galaxy Z Fold 3, for example, there is a small gap near the hinge when folded According to Oppo, the Find N has no such problem, which is a very impressive technical feat
Part of the appeal of book-style folding is the increased potential for productivity Oppo has considered this and has added several important features, including the ability to split apps between displays Frankly, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 offers almost the same multitasking features, so if you know those features, you won't be surprised by the Find N implementation From what we saw, however, Find N seems incredibly easy to use
The phone itself looks very pocketable despite its 71" display when unfolded; the 62" x 26" x 056-062" Galaxy Z Fold 3 is a bit taller and narrower when folded, but the Find N folds down to 5 2" x 29" x 06" and appears to be a bit easier to use when in phone mode
It is a shame that the Find N will never leave China (like the Huawei P50 Pocket) Samsung currently dominates the list of best folding phones, but since no one has made a folding phone that challenges Samsung, it is mostly a default We had hoped Oppo would do it, but for now we have to wait for other companies to step up to the plate If Find N does well in China, Oppo may launch in Europe
If they do, they may face competition from Honor Magic V, which has entered the folding market
