Another PS5 restock is currently underway courtesy of Sony Direct. The manufacturer just restocked PS5s on Monday, and there will be another invite-only restock.

The drop will begin at 2 p.m. ET and will last until 7 p.m. ET or while supplies last. There is a possibility that the gates will open to those without invitations around 5 PM ET, but this is not guaranteed and has not happened in the past half dozen Sony Direct drops.

However, if a general release does occur, one would be able to get the PS5 for $499 from this link or the PS5 Digital for $399 from this link. If you have not yet received an invitation, Sony is still accepting registrations on their registration page. It's likely too late to earn an invite to this drop, but it's still worth putting your name in the hate for future restocking.

This latest Sony Direct restocking news comes from a Reddit thread where several users have confirmed that they have received invites for this upcoming drop. If you previously signed up to receive an invite, we strongly suggest you search your email inbox. Don't forget to look in your spam folder as well, just in case.

Occasionally, Sony Direct will hold restockings for invited guests only. (Invitations are sent via email). Sony recently opened registration for these events to the public. This means that anyone can now sign up for an invitation-only Sony Direct PS5 restocking event.

Activate your Sony Direct account and set your notifications to Yes. Creating a Sony Direct account is easy: you can sign up at this link. Once your account is set up, add your address and billing information. Registering this information will make it easier for you to add the PS5 console to your cart.

To turn on notifications from Sony Direct, you must sign in to your account, click on "My Profile" and then click the "Edit" button from your profile page. You will be redirected to a new account settings page. On that page, select "notifications" from the left column and opt-in to receive news and special offers from Sony.

Keep in mind that this method does not guarantee that you will receive your invitation in time for the next PS5 drop.

Typically, Sony tends to open the virtual queue to the public after an invite-only PS5 restock. However, this is not always guaranteed, as there have been instances where retailers have completely sold out.

If there is a surplus of consoles, restocking for the public will most likely take place after the invite-only event is over. (Of course, you can bookmark this page to be kept informed of the latest PS5 restocking information from Sony Direct and major US retailers.

Once in the virtual queue, an estimated wait time is displayed. Wait times will vary, and you will most likely receive a message saying that it will take more than an hour. If this is the case, do not despair. Your status may change rapidly and you may end up waiting less than expected. (For example, after waiting 20 minutes for a previous PS5 restocking event, our time was reduced from "over an hour" to only 15 minutes.)

Additionally, you may have to solve captchas. This is a simple challenge/question to verify that you are not a bot, usually requiring you to select a radio box. For this reason, it is a good idea to keep your browser tabs prominent. Otherwise, you may miss the captcha challenge and lose your right to stand in line.
