Many smart home tech products have already been announced for the 2022 CES. But if you want to spruce up your living room, look no further than the Sengled Wi-Fi Video-Sync TV Light Strip.

As the name suggests, Sengled's new product is a smart LED light strip that works with your TV. The device uses an external camera to synchronize the TV image with a sticky, wall-facing light strip. The resulting light show spreads the colors on the screen throughout the room.

The Sengled Wi-Fi Video-Sync TV Light Strip is tentatively priced at $119 and supports screen sizes 45" to 75".

Unlike other immersive TV lights such as the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box, Sengled's Video-Sync light does not analyze content through an HDMI cable. This frees up valuable HDMI slots on the back of the TV to make room for soundbars, consoles, and other peripherals. Instead, Sengled's lights use a small camera positioned toward the TV to read the colors of the current image and mirror them across a strip of LEDs mounted on the back.

The video sync light strips are also cheaper than most alternatives; the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box costs $229 on its own, while the actual lights must be purchased separately.

These lights build on the functionality of two previous Sengled products, the Audio-Sync TV light strip and the company's LED light bar, although the Audio-Sync light strip creates an impressive light show and is ideal for listening to music, Syncing to video instead of audio for the same experience is perfect for gamers and streaming, and could even make Sengled one of the best TikTok lights.

This style of smart light strip turns what you are watching or playing with into an immersive experience.

Sengled's products have been successful because of their ease of use. Their products have been on the list of best smart lights for years in a row because they are easy to set up and relatively inexpensive compared to competitors. They integrate with the easy-to-use Sengled app and work with Alexa, Google Assistant, HomeKit, and SmartThings.

The Video-Sync lights appear to continue Sengled's successful track record. While it may seem expensive for a set of decorative LED lights, the cost compared to buying a fancier, more fully immersive TV setup and the fact that it is not tied to an HDMI cable makes me interested.
