GameStop in-store PS5 Replenishment tipped for this week— Date and how to get your console

If you're expecting a restock of the PS5 at the start of the new year, you may be in luck: GameStop is reportedly preparing to restock the PS5 in stores this week. This will be the first restock of PS5 consoles in 2022 for the retailer.

News of this possible restocking comes from the Twitter account @PS5restocks_etc. While this account is not the largest restock tracker, it has a solid track record when it comes to reliability. The account is currently reporting that the PS5 will be restocked at select GameStop stores on Friday, January 14.

Noted restock tracker Matt Swider has also suggested that GameStop may be restocking the PS5 soon. Whether both trackers are talking about the same drop is currently unknown. In any case, there has yet to be a confirmed restock by GameStop itself, so for now, these tips should be taken with a grain of salt, just to be safe.

If GameStop does restock the PS5 this week, it will likely start at the opening time of each store (8:00 am local time at the earliest), but eager shoppers will be lining up for the console much earlier than this.

As has become a staple of GameStop's PS5 restocking, the console will almost certainly only be available in pre-bundled packages. These packages will likely include a PS5 game, an additional controller, digital credits, and a GameStop gift card; GameStop will always charge the combined retail price of the items in the bundle, so at least they won't be priced out.

Previous GameStop in-store restocks did not require PowerUp Reward Pro membership. However, some previous PS5 in-store restocks were exclusive to customers with Pro memberships. It might be worth registering now, just in case.

While we wait to see if this rumored GameStop PS5 in-store restocking will actually take place, be sure to check the PS5 restocking hub for updates. While we can't guarantee the machine, it will make the task of finding the next-generation console a little easier.
