Omicron strains have become the new mainstream strain of Covid-19 in the United States. According to the latest news from Bloomberg, there is a new strain (found in Cyprus) that combines delta and omicron, which is called deltaclone.

The CDC still recommends wearing cloth masks, but health officials are now recommending upgrading to medical surgical masks and N95 respirators. According to the Washington Post, the CDC may change its guidelines and recommend masks worn by healthcare workers, such as N95 respirators and KN95 masks.

These masks provide a tight seal around the face and up to 95% protection from airborne particulates. KN95 masks, the Chinese equivalent of N95, offer similar protection, but these masks have not been certified by any U.S. agency. Furthermore, KN95 masks are often counterfeit, so be careful when purchasing online.
