The latest Nintendo Direct had several announcements that will greatly excite fans of the iconic Zelda series.

Not only will "The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" be HD remastered for the Nintendo Switch, but a limited edition Joy-Con controller will be released with the game.

This Zelda-themed Joy-Con will be available on July 16, and although it is a few months away, it is already becoming a rather scarce commodity as eager fans buy up the limited pre-order stock.

Unfortunately, these already seem to be another game item that duffers will ruin for everyone. A few pairs have been popping up on resale sites, and some of them are selling ridiculously well.

As of 11:55 a.m. ET on March 11, no retailers are accepting orders for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Joy-Cons. Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Gamestop previously accepted pre-orders, but all four stores are sold out.

Curiously, Best Buy now lists Joy-Con as "coming soon" rather than "sold out" as before. Does this suggest that they will be restocked in the near future?

The first orders sold out in just a few minutes, but hopefully more stock will become available as the summer release date approaches. At the very least, it is expected that Nintendo's official store will be taking orders at some point.

This may indicate that pre-orders are not available in the UK, and instead controller inventory will only be sold after the release date.

GAME, a specialty video game retailer, seems almost certain to accept orders at some point, as does the official Nintendo Store UK.

It would not be a major shock if the controllers end up being exclusive to these two retailers in the UK, as it is common for GAME to sign agreements with suppliers to sell limited edition third-party products exclusively.
