Moto G Smartwatch Just Leaked - Watch out, Apple Watch SE

Last year, a licensing deal between Motorola and Canada's eBuyNow Inc. reincarnated one of the first wearables that sparked the smartwatch gold rush, the Moto 360.

The $350 smartwatch may not have set the world alight, but it looks certain to be the first of many new Moto smartwatches CE Brands (soon to merge with eBuyNow) was first discovered by Watch Smarty They have released an investor presentation, showing at least three Moto-branded smartwatches, along with various non-Moto air purifiers, security cameras, and smart light solutions.

As you can see from the roadmap above, the first to be announced is the Moto G smartwatch in June; whereas the Moto 360 was aimed at the high-end smartwatch crowd, the Moto G brand will be priced between $200 (Moto G9) and $250 (Moto G Power) for less expensive phones priced between $200 (Moto G9) and $250 (Moto G9). Therefore, the Moto G watch could be a competitor to the lower-priced Apple Watch SE.

No specs were provided, which could mean an older Snapdragon Wear chipset, but in the case of wearables, the old internals are less of an issue than in phones, thanks to their lower functionality. Hopefully, Moto G-branded wearables will prove to be reasonably strong competition for products like the TicWatch E and Amazfit T Rex on our Best Cheap Smartwatches list.

A month later, in July, CE Brands will launch two more wearable products, the Moto Watch and the Moto One. The former has a square face and rounded corners reminiscent of the Apple Watch, while the latter appears to be similar in design to the Moto 360. Interestingly, on a separate page, these watches are given a "fitness tracking" category, perhaps suggesting sportier features than the Moto 360.

No mention is made of specs or pricing, so we can only speculate about internal differences between the two, but it appears to be a more premium product than the Moto G Smartwatch. We expect it to be powered by Qualcomm's latest chipset, the Snapdragon Wear 4100.

What we do know is that these Moto will stick with Google's Wear OS. Another page in the presentation mentions that "eBuyNow is one of a handful of active Wear OS licensees" and is "one of the earliest companies to partner with Qualcomm for premium wearables."

Hopefully, a formal announcement, including specs and pricing, will follow this investor presentation within the next few months.
