This smart mirror uses AR to help you with skin care

LAS VEGAS - Wellness and health tech are thriving at CES 2020, and none more clever and comprehensive than Poseidon, powered by CareOS.

Poseidon Smart Mirrors, which range from 32" to 55", transform a standard bathroom station into an all-in-one wellness hub.

Poseidon is powered by CareOS, a health-centric operating system designed to manage wellness data stored locally on the device; CareOS also controls smart devices to which the Poseidon mirror is connected, and record the family's daily routines.

Poseidon's primary technology is an AR camera that maps your face at 7,000 different points. This is useful for recognizing who is standing in front of the mirror at any given time, but this mapping is also useful for health and beauty.

I tried the AR feature and found that it accurately read my skin features and recognized the dryness caused by the third day of my trip. I also used the Poseidon mirror to see how my hair would look if I changed my hair color and which shade of lipstick would best suit my style for the day.

Over time, Poseidon was able to track changes in my skin and see how it had changed with age. Yes, the mirror could quickly point out my deepening stress wrinkles while also recommending products and routines to alleviate them.

What intrigued me about the Poseidon was its built-in infrared sensor. The touchless display is ideal for keeping water, cream, paste, etc. out of the reflection.

Poseidon will be available later this year, with prices starting as high as $3,000. That price will likely draw a few sharp stares in front of the mirror, but that won't stop me from adding Poseidon to my wish list.
