We've been quietly waiting for about a year for Bose Frames audio AR sunglasses to become available with degree lenses. Today (January 9), Bose announced that it is working with Lensabl to sell degree lenses for the Bose Frames.

In my review of the Bose Frames, I mentioned how much I liked their sound quality - like high quality headphones that don't actually go in your ears - but complained that I couldn't use them regularly without Rx lenses.

Lensabl lenses for Bose Frames are not cheap, adding $127 (for single vision lenses) or $337 (for premium progressive lenses). This is on top of the $199 price of the Bose frames themselves.

GlassesUSA's unofficial option starts at $49 for single vision lenses, but my prescription was too strong for their lenses to work for me.

Since the Bose Frames were first announced in March 2018, we've seen the glasses released in January 2019 and the release of the Bose AR app last March.The Bose AR app is based on the Frames' sensors and information pulled from the phone's app for spatial It uses a mix of recognition, which is pretty cool.

Now that an official option exists, I'm ready to give these glasses another shot. Indeed, the AirPods Pro and its Transparency mode have changed things a bit, as it blends the audio from the phone nicely with the world around it.
